So tell me: How exactly is this Rubenstein's fault? He didn't make the decision to make the bad signings and trade deadline moves. He and the ownership group just got full control less than a year ago...I think folks are blaming him just because, lol Now what WILL be his responsibility is what happens with Elias. It's known however that Elias chose not to spend. I really have the feeling he's gone at the end of the season, as team don't fire GMs midseason. Well the kicker is, the payroll increased by like $70M! For people like Charlie Morton, Gary Sanchez, and Tyler O'Neill! Not exactly money well spent. Those are all baseball operations. Elias is the president of baseball operations. We went through three decades of Angelos constantly meddling in those...and how did that turn out? There are the purse strings--he enlarged them. Elias made the decisions on how to spend that money. Owner finances--owner let's GM makes decisions on how to spend it.
