Cut shorter pieces as you get closer to the wall it's likely going to slide towards you. It's a lot easier rolling something off when it's on a wall then jammed in the dirt. Forgot to mention, If the upper limb is being supported by the lower limb (not hitting the ground) cut as much of it as you can going slowly cutting small pieces (Don't cut over shoulder height).
