So it is coming down to the Meso Models ~vs~ globals with 24 hours to go. Seems the Mesoscale guidance is sniffing out waves of low pressure riding along and ahead of the boundary. I see that GSP is calling for an Advisory level event above 3500 ft. Yesterday afternoon they were mentioning the possibility of some flash freezing of roadways also being a concern. My hunch is 2 to 4 above 3k with an inch or two into Asheville and possibility Hickory. I've got to say that in this period of so called "torch", I'll very pleased with 2 snow events in less than a week!

Yeah no kidding! Two chances of snowfall in 1 week during the torch. Not bad at all.

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches,
with isolated 4 inch totals at the highest peaks and near the
immediate Tennessee border. Northwest winds gusting as high as
45 mph at times.

* WHERE...Avery, Yancey and Mitchell Counties in western North
Carolina.

* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to noon EST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the morning commute. Gusty winds could
bring down tree branches.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Temperatures falling quickly into the lower
to middle 20s overnight may lead to black ice formation and very
slippery conditions even where snow accumulations are more
limited.
