wolfie09
It all depends on the timing of a potential CF..It always warms just ahead of it.. For W/C NY it's perfect timing to sizzle lol It doesn't make it to ENY until overnight.. But obviously 174 hours out, timing will change..

champy
This type of setup is not without precedent here. Jogged my memory back to 4.16.07 in Skaneateles. Didn't go on April break so was hoping the weather would be nice in NY. On the 16th during the day the deformation band was so strong that in a stripe from maybe Auburn to Camillus it stayed snow, turning to rain in most other places. Was an amazing and heavy snow. If I remember measurements we got well over a foot that day - most sticking during the morning hours. Could happen again somewhere!

It stinks...but sometimes/often we have to deal with the consequences of our actions. It' definitely not fun to go through. I, like you, love cooler weather. I don't mind below normal days! I hope you enjoy the sunny day! 2

They received about 30 inches of snow recently last week and more on the way into May!

brentrich
Updated April 22nd, cool start into 1st week of May. Artic high pressure will help dislodge polar air southward. Not a good trend for anyone who want a long lasting warmth. The warm air is sitting at north pole. Cool May means busy hurricane season. High chance east coast will get hit by major hurricane.

To answer your question the EAR and BSR having a run with La Niña. The first two are like the Gulf Stream from East Asia and Bering Sea, always there; then down the West coast to bump into La or El Niña, where I've been hearing La doesn't want to move to it's Summer residence more towards the central Pacific. This is a little old but is the tail end of last Winter. "In a normal year" the majority of the blue along the South American coast would migrate west and end up between Hawaii and Indonesia, but it's slow to do that this year.
