* IMPACTS...DANGEROUS WIND CHILLS MAY QUICKLY PRODUCE FROSTBITE ON

PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR BLACK ICE MEANS THAT REFREEZING OF

APPEAR CLEAR MAY BE COVERED BY A THIN LAYER OF ICE.

Oh, my fault. It's for black ice.

Took me half a minute to realize that first pic was upside down. I couldn't figure out what I was looking at. :)

Actually looks like a ridgeline from very far away.

Lol.... it took me some time but with the powder and cold temps I finally turned the driveway into a luge course

It may be a long shot but the gfs and nam to an extent both show a bit of upslope snow late tonight into tomorrow morning. I may bust hard on this but I have been watching the winds shift to more off the Lakes upstream than earlier. Again I could be crazy.

I was looking on Web cams sugar, king street an hour go just reading reports checking out pics views etc and looked like it was snowing in boone. Thought na must be wind blowing snow off roofs. Anyway glad you guys got to cash in with the storm. Ukie nailed it along with that german model.

It. Is. Cold.

Currently 5º with winds gusting to around 30 or so. Shaking the house a bit. COLD COLD COLD COLD COLD.

Winds picking up here too. I'm down to 1.8°. Recorded a wind chill at -17.4 a little while ago. Whipping up a lot of snow too. There'll be some nice drifts tomorrow.

Btw, the roads are horrible in Yancey County. Tried to go out to dinner this evening and we turned around. When it's this cold after a storm, DOT can't do much.

Davis station up the hill reported a gust of 66 around 8:30 but I was still at work (12 hours of Walmart today, yay). Currently reporting gusts to 40. Face goes numb as soon as you step outside. Definitely the coldest conditions I've ever personally been in. Seen colder air temps but not with the wind. Crazy.

All our main and big secondary roads up here are good. Some of the backroads are disasters, though.  Really enjoying having my Subaru, though, handles a lot better than my Jeep did.

can you believe the next 10 days are showing rain starting about Wednesday for about 6 days, why can't that be snow for everyday,  where is the cold when you need it.

LOL.... when our 7-12 inches of snow across the region melts, we can talk about that.
