nice storm here-CTG lightning and a lot of rain.   Storms just rotting over me now.

Huh, i thought dry begets dry. The pattern is clearly shifting. I don't expect it to turn on a dime but a gradual switch to a wetter pattern seems to be in order.

The 18z GFS continues to be wet for Sunday-Tuesday with 2-3" of rain over a large area through 120 hours.

Idk, I'm overcast here. The HRRR has the radar exploding in about 5 hours.

Someone is going see big rain drops..not your run of the mill type either.

All the signals point to a heavy rain event. Spoke with a farmer earlier this morning..he was stoked about the storm.

From Mt Holly NWS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

HEAVY RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE TODAY AND TONIGHT LEADING TO LOCALIZED

FLOODING ESPECIALLY IN POOR DRAINAGE AREAS. IN ADDITION SOME OF

THE THUNDERSTORMS TODAY AND THIS EVENING MAY BE STRONG WITH GUSTY

WINDS AND SMALL HAIL.

HPC 10 AM discussion on heavy rain

NORTHEAST...

A NARROW WINDOW FOR HIGH RAINFALL RATES SUFFICIENT TO APPROACH OR
POSSIBLY EXCEED FFG VALUES EXISTS TODAY INTO TONIGHT AS CONVECTION
ASSOCIATED WITH THE APPROACHING LOW AND FRONTAL SYSTEM DEVELOPS.
WHILE UNCERTAINTY IN THE MESOSCALE SUGGESTS THAT LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINFALL IS POSSIBLY ALMOST ANYWHERE...THE SLOWEST CELL MOTIONS
APPEAR TO EXIST FROM ABOUT MA WEST SOUTHWESTWARD INTO NORTHERN NJ
WHERE THE MID LEVEL FLOW WEAKENS NEAR THE SOUTHERN TIP OF THE
WESTERLIES.
