Stebo
Might be able to make a case for it with those amounts given the non-wintry weather of late and the possibility that it's still snowing for morning rush hour there. I think combine that with a quick freeze, I would agree with you.
Powerball
So it's NAM vs. GFS now (in terms of thermals/placement)...
michsnowfreak
So it's NAM vs. GFS now (in terms of thermals/placement)... NAM would be like 1-2" with GFS 4-5". RGEM appears to be a compromise but a bit more GFS like.
Chicago WX
0z NAM text has 2.4" for LAF. That would work. Regardless..."nice" temp plunge back to winter, for a little bit.
michsnowfreak
And lol that its in the upper 60s at midnight, and in about 30 hours there should be snow on the ground with temps well down into the 20s.

Still favoring the inch or less call at this point but could get a touch more if things go right.
Powerball
00z RGEM stepped off the gas a tad in terms of amounts, but otherwise it's not very different from the 18z run.
Hoosier
Not expecting it but if we get lucky and get 2" out of this, it would be the 4th latest 2" snowfall on record for Lafayette going back to the late 1800s. According to the local met, there was a few inches of snow on April 18, 1821 but records are too sketchy that far back.

Hoosier
A couple things to watch for Indianapolis... The last time there was measurable snow so late in April was 2001, when 0.2" fell on April 16. The last time there was at least 1" of snow so late in April was 1961, when 2.7" fell from April 15-17. daddylonglegs
I'm seeing wet flakes/sleet/whatever mixing in with the rain here... Rochester is @ 33F with unknown precip...nws has them 1 to 3 and us under an inch... should be covered in the morning. Bluffs will probably get even more. And up to 70°F at 5 and 6am...mid-June weather. Crazy to think this is going to happen, but it WILL snow.
Whitelakeroy
I just want 0.4" out of this so FNT can break the snow record. Give us a 1/2" and lets be done!!
snowstormcanuck
Both 6z NAM and GFS are pure clownage for YYZ. 3-4" and 4-6" respectively. Either verifying would be the most pure snow we've seen in April in decades.

TimChgo9
Noted that snow totals have been upped a bit for the metro area, as of this morning, not much of an increase, but some areas may see an inch or so, mainly on grassy areas. That's up from .2" to .5" they were talking about over the weekend.
weatherbo
wind and snow combo is pretty impressive right now. over an inch on ground/deck and roof. road is just wet.
Chicago WX
12z NAM clown likes the western half-ish of OH and then up through southern Ontario. Not bad for parts of IN and MI as well.
Chicago WX
Might as well round out the clowns...here's the 12z 4km NAM, GFS, and RGEM maps. Seems to be decent agreement on the locations right now...amounts, eh, but fairly close.
