Avdave
Had the last last quick line slide through here about 30-45 mins ago. Looks to be between .75-1.00" here in the burg. I saw a 2" report on WHAG but not sure exactly where it was here. 62/61 currently here winds shifting from the SSE to the SSW now

stormitecture
One other element I noticed with Isaac that the normal "couplet" is not what to look for on radar. I somehow ended up in quite a few tropical tornado warnings during my chase in Florida and the Gulf Coast. I didn't notice a single couplet. I definately need to study more there...but for next season. I didn't get a real look, but I wonder if that was the case with the tor warn in moco/pg earlier today. Hopefully some frame grabbed the srv and I just haven't seen it yet.

A lot of times you'll just see strong winds with some mesocyclone tendancies then a one frame couplet if that... as they're often so brief. When you're further removed in the outermost bands or if a storm is ashore it starts to take on more typical characteristics of supercells.. particularly if you can ingest some dry air into the sys. birdsofprey02
Is there a nice page with rain totals (preferably on a map and customization based on last hour/day/week/year etc.) Sometimes I like to go back and glance at what happened, but never sure where to look. SNO
Looking at the models...there is a potential for some decent rains on September 18-19...could be a Miller A type event. If it develops, could it be a precursor to winter tracks? One can only hope. Not a bad call for the rain event 6 days in advance

catoctin wx
Ended up with 3.54" IMBY for a storm total. The normally-dry water retention area behind my house was a full blown lake by the afternoon (ducks and everything).
TradeWinds
Ended up with 4.22" in Ballenger Creek after that last shower. NWS replied that I'm the highest reported so far. I guess all this rain at once makes up for the the boring summer up our way.

Fact: Call was for decent rains September 18 Fact: Call made on September 12 Chill - did it rain at your house yesterday? Come on now. Looking at a model and saying it's going to rain and then have it rain doesn't require any skill. Stating that it looks miller a'ish and will be a precursor to winter tracks is the only thing in your original post that requires verification of which there is was none.
