that cell nw of OKC looking more and more nasty lately... would at least clip northern burbs at this rate, though it's going right a bit

check out how the left splitter gets sucked into that huge cell north

the one it split off should turn more SE into OKC later if it survives

yeah thats kinda cool.. the small one briefly had a tvs and was sort of rotating counterclockwise to the north of the bigger cell for a bit--tho I guess that could have just been an illusion. the big one is getting a bit elongated.. might be having issues or just cycling.

I'm under a tornado warning here. My house is in Solon, I'm at a friend's in Twinsburg. Sirens going. This in northeastern OH.

Looks like the couplet is headed right for there. Local news is reporting some light damage from this cell in the SW burbs of Cleveland.

The coolest part today was seeing 20+commercial planes fly right over us (landscaping work today) and around the severe storms which have been to the south and the edge of the cloud deck has been over us all day.

There was in fact a ground stoppage at Metro Airport when the storms came through.

There was also a tornado reported by police crossing state road 9 4 miles north of Mt. Etna in Huntington County.

That was actually reported by me! It crossed the road about 200 yards in front of me. Fortunately, it was in a sparsely populated area. Here is a sample of the tree damage:

I had just gotten home from work and decided to intercept the rotation I noticed on radar, since it was about 15 miles west of me. I had to drive south through rain/hail core and just as I exited it, I saw the wall cloud. It quickly developed a funnel, then touched down just before crossing SR 9, carrying tree limbs across the road with it. It topped several trees and did some very minor damage to a home before lifting. I followed it for about 10 miles, and while it continued to violently rotate, it never dropped another tornado. Quite an exciting day.

I feel like your intercept will be a great case study.

You confirmed a tornado, and it will be great to compare what the radar was showing when you interepted it.

I believe far more of these EF1/EF0 TORs occur than are reported and end up being 'wind' damage reports...especially at night when a visual would be hard to confirm.

Possible tornado near the Ohio Turnpike. Should pass near or just south of the Youngstown-Warren Airport... so it might show up in a SPECI if it holds together.
