Makes you wonder how the future of nuclear energy will move forward if Japan and their earthquake knowledge and preparedness couldn't prevent this sort of disaster. I think thats because the metal structure is still there its just the walls and roof are gone. Think of a steel framed building before it is completed. The frame of the building is still there, just the 'white' part of it is not. They zoomed in on it on NHK and you can see the structure still standing.
