  1. Great explanos. Science without emotion. You deserve daffodils now and snow next winter...
  2. Guessing that 60 years ago, the ground would be slushy-white all the way to the NW fringes of the cities. Now we are too warm for a car-topper. So...brown wet ground and leafless trees.
  3. Lol I've hardly posted the past few weeks but okay. Feel free to use ignore if you don't like my great insight If bull c*** = accumulating snow, I'd be pouring $5 a gal. gas into the snowblower.
  4. Looks realistic. Plus, experience reminds us that freezing rain has a big impact when the qpf is light and almost freezing drizzle, no wind, and late night just before dawn. Tho...the map above is for 0Z.
  5. Go to weather.gov. satellite. NE US. click on night time microphysics. animate
  6. Radar update: back edge coming...like a grouchy cat that turns to show the humans its cat rumpuss.
  7. COD radar site shows this little snowblob means biz. Can confirm 1/2 mile visibility for 20 minutes. Primary roads here are white, no traffic at this moment. Still cranking at 6:54 am.
  8. The NAM places two realistic patches of 2 to 3. Could be grassy areas only with these warm roads.
  9. Yo! Stormtacker! Sober as a gravedigger. 46 days til spring. Time to plant your plants; legal in n DC.
  10. TEASER. Light, fluffy pre-event flurries in calm air. Cold AF. Glyndon-Reisterstown.
  11. The 500 mb low slows down and deepens near Charlottesville. If it slows enough the front end snow could be a quick heavy 3 to 6 followed by 12 hours of rain.
  12. Operational GFS is typical of warm-wet pattern. Front end 3-6hrs snow and then the system rides the Bay with everybody-to rain for all of the sub-forum. "The Sync" isn't working for mid-lantic
  13. Monday, GFS 500 Z is wild and white. Good patter, re-occurring toricity near us. Peiodic chilly white falls of 2 to 4. Stable reoccurring pattern.
  14. I give this winter a B-/B for weeks of snow on lawns and multiple swowblower uses. A quick look of GFS snowpack for the next 16 days is tawdry, accums being 100s of miles from here. No need to give up but assume 5% to 15% mayyy...be. Time to plan for the start of hothouse seedlings.
  15. My yard has been partially or fully snow covered for the better part of a month. Really OK.
  16. Light wet fatties on a Friday night in Reisterstown
  17. Staying away from anyone with COVID is JOB ONE. Maryland is smart for the most part.
