Low of 10, coldest night of the year by far, Jan/Feb only managed 15. Spanish Moss experiment going into its 3rd year, this is probably the lowest temp it’s seen so far, 10 degrees is still within plant hardiness zone 8 territory so it should be okay.

Went from rain to sleet fairly quickly in Hauppauge.

70 degrees with a Red Flag Warning and Freeze Watch at the same time, I feel like I’m in the Great Plains.

One of my thermometers dipped to 31 while the other stayed above freezing. TBH a hard freeze (28) should mark the end of the growing season, my potted vegetables and plants are fine.

80/62 today, very June-like but with low humidity. Fire department was in different spots along the edge of the woods near me earlier, wouldn’t be surprised if something was on fire there given how dry it’s been.

Only 0.40” for September and October (so far) combined, October only at 0.10”, meanwhile March and August saw nearly a foot of rain each. Temps have been overperforming even during this cool spell, forecasted highs in the upper 50’s have meant highs in the low/mid 60’s, I’ve been overdressed the past two days.

I saw a pink/purple tinged sky with my own eyes. Crazy. First time in my life.

Watching NOAA42 on FlightRadar, looks like they’re getting tossed around quite a bit. These altitude readings are rather jarring.
