  1. Not sure, sky was clear to the north for hours and then the clouds started moving south out of the area.
  2. Clouds breaking up here in Riverhead.
  3. I can’t see anything, but my drone certainly did. I’m shocked. It didn’t even appear on my phone’s screen while flying the drone, sky was pitch black so I aimed it north hoping to catch something, I only saw it afterwards. I technically can’t count this as a sighting as I can’t see it, it’s cloudy over Long Island but clearer to the north, but this is my first time ever catching it on camera.
  4. Made it to 58 today. Gross but warmer than expected.
  5. 55 and gloomy, but at least it’s dry, at the moment at least.
  6. Storms over western MA visible from the LIE.
  7. 2nd proper thunderstorm of the year, dark outside with booming thunder. First 2”+ per hour rates of the year? I have to check, but given how wet winter was I doubt it.
  8. 77 here. Picture perfect.
  9. Occasional sprinkle here but mostly dry. Only 51, feels like late winter.
  10. As a fellow plant lover I’d appreciate SD’s 10b/11a plant hardiness zone over our 7b, but you’re right about the rain, I’d actually take our warmer half of the year over theirs, coastal SoCal isn’t hot/humid enough for me.
  11. Sky finally beginning to clear out.
  12. Yeah no blue breaks yet but I’m seeing the sun pierce through the clouds here in Melville. I hope we can take advantage of some daytime heating, it’d suck to clear out too late for a substantial warm up.
  13. It’s brightening up a bit near ISP, not as misty, but still socked in.
  14. Sun’s out in Plainview, went from jacket to AC really quick.
  15. Compressional heating high of 88, courtesy of the sea breeze “Only” 80 now.
  16. The Ecowitt console yes, it connects directly to the 2902, it doesn’t use the original display in order to function.
  17. Wunderground is natively supported in their app. I believe you just need the station ID and a password. Edit: Apparently the GW1200 is the newest model, replacing the GW1100, but either one should work fine.
  18. I often wish we had DC’s climate, or at least much less susceptible to BDCF’s. 82 here.
  19. I have my 2902 connected to an Ecowitt GW1000 (GW1100 is the newer model) because my display had hardware/software issues and I didn’t feel like buying a new one. Ecowitt is owned by Fine Offset, the company that manufactures the 2902, so their stuff is fully compatible with the 2902. I don’t have access to AWN but it works for everything else (arguably more), and Ecowitt has something similar to AWN. The GW1000/GW1100 also supports accessories whereas my original 2902 display didn’t, lightning detectors, soil monitors, etc.
  20. Blue sky CTG bolts associated with this Central Suffolk cell.
  21. First rumbles of thunder for 2024. Light rain, heavy rain missing me to the west. I noticed the clouds starting to look pretty cumulonimbus about an hour ago and I thought I was wrong. It was just well into the 70’s and now this. Edit: Close lightning strike, sounded like an explosion, car alarms going off.
  22. Just raw and miserable out here. Adventureland is open, I see people on rides, they’re nuts.
  23. 82. How can anyone hate this?
