  1. Flurries in Ronkonkoma. Looking forward to the warm up.
  2. 37 with plain rain here. Nothing frozen at all, it’s been above freezing since yesterday.
  3. Just saw a small meteorite burn up over Coram/Selden at a pretty low altitude, I saw the smoke and everything. Came in like a missile. Not far off from the flight path into ISP.
  4. Roughly 7.3” here, highest amount was 8” even, lowest was 6” even. Still some very light snow but it’s much brighter now with the sun starting to peak through.
  5. 34 here, low was 30.2, second freeze of the season. Peppers look unhappy but otherwise alive. They didn’t flinch at the first freeze (31.6) on 11/7.
  6. First time hearing thunder in several months.
  7. 35 with flurries in Medford. No freeze this morning, low was 33.
  8. Just got a High Wind Watch alert for October 19th/20th, has to be a mistake.
  9. Made it up to 87 here, I wish this happened tomorrow (Saturday) instead. This year has really been a snoozefest on all fronts, the only exception being the 100+ degree heat in June and July.
  10. The east end getting slammed of course. They’re like the South Jersey of Long Island, it doesn’t make meteorological sense to me. It’s so dry here my Rosemary is wilting.
  11. High of 93 here, same as yesterday. Very dry summer here, that July 31st event being the only exception.
  12. 63 and heavily overcast. I feel like this happens at least once every other late December. It was literally 100 three days ago.
  13. My PWS is seeing rates over 4 inches per hour on the north shore. Ground is hard and bone dry so I wonder how that’s going. I’m near ISP right now where it’s dry but looks 8 PM.
  14. I think the dryness is partly to blame. The grass around here has seen better days.
  15. Topped out at 99 here, briefly. Generally around 96-97 for much of the day. Down to 92 now. Feels good.
  16. 100. Third instance of triple digits so far this year, almost a fourth instance with a near miss of 99 in June. Not bad for Long Island.
  17. Smoke very apparent in central Suffolk. Might be the smokiest it’s been since the Canadian wildfire smoke 2 years ago, nowhere near as bad as that right now though.
  18. Heavy rain and rumbles of thunder in Manhattan. Trees are stationary. Boring. A puff of wind would be nice. I haven’t experienced a proper severe thunderstorm in ages.
