    Just got a High Wind Watch alert for October 19th/20th, has to be a mistake.

    Made it up to 87 here, I wish this happened tomorrow (Saturday) instead. This year has really been a snoozefest on all fronts, the only exception being the 100+ degree heat in June and July.

    Pretty windy in Hicksville right now.

    The east end getting slammed of course. They’re like the South Jersey of Long Island, it doesn’t make meteorological sense to me. It’s so dry here my Rosemary is wilting.

    High of 86 here. 6-day “heat wave” finished.

    High of 93 here, same as yesterday. Very dry summer here, that July 31st event being the only exception.

    63 and heavily overcast. I feel like this happens at least once every other late December. It was literally 100 three days ago.

    My PWS is seeing rates over 4 inches per hour on the north shore. Ground is hard and bone dry so I wonder how that’s going. I’m near ISP right now where it’s dry but looks 8 PM.

    I think the dryness is partly to blame. The grass around here has seen better days.

    Topped out at 99 here, briefly. Generally around 96-97 for much of the day. Down to 92 now. Feels good.

    100. Third instance of triple digits so far this year, almost a fourth instance with a near miss of 99 in June. Not bad for Long Island.

    Smoke very apparent in central Suffolk. Might be the smokiest it’s been since the Canadian wildfire smoke 2 years ago, nowhere near as bad as that right now though.

    Heavy rain and rumbles of thunder in Manhattan. Trees are stationary. Boring. A puff of wind would be nice. I haven’t experienced a proper severe thunderstorm in ages.

    88/80/105 right now. High was 91.

    Sporadic raindrops here. Grass is starting to brown a bit. Only 3 inches of rain so far for met summer.

    86 at my PWS underneath a thunderstorm, high so far is 98. I can hear and see it from the south shore.

    It’s wild how unremarkable 80-degree dews have become in recent years, they’re about as run-of-the-mill as a high in the low 90’s at this point.

    A watch is basically an all-clear signal for LI. I feel like every severe storm (not many) I’ve experienced while living here has happened with no watch. 91/70, not bad. Holiday traffic is already ridiculous.

    Currently 70, about 30 degrees lower than yesterday at this time. Midnight high of 82 for today though.

    99, 103, 102. Almost 3 consecutive triple digit days.

    Lightning from the storm out in the Atlantic is visible all the way from the north shore of LI, I initially thought it was much closer.

    Seabreeze is only good for thunderstorms, sometimes.
