    Exact same here. Still coming down. Medium sized pine tree branch missed my car by about 6 feet, I heard the thud from inside.

    Greetings from Wisconsin, snow lovers (which I’m not). It’s been years since I’ve seen anything like this, this picture doesn’t even do it justice. I’ve never seen *old* snow clinging to the sides of trees, buildings, etc. until now. The car was, and still is, entombed in ice this morning from freezing rain and/or mixed precip overnight. Roads that were salty yesterday were iced over (or snowy in some areas) this morning. I’m just grateful I came this week and not last week when temps were much colder than anything I’ve experienced.

    Sunshower with roaring winds, a January first for me. 2.16” event total (and counting). High of 58.

    Pressure peaked at 1030.8mb overnight yesterday and bottomed out at 981.4mb overnight today. Nearly a 50mb difference. 3.55 event total, rainfall rates peaked at just under 5” per hour in the squall line, in the dead of winter. Our climate is really living up to my username this decade.

    That’s crazy, virtually no accumulation by Smith Haven Mall. I see a little white on small sections of barren dirt/mulch, but grass and roads are just wet.

    Went from small-ish flakes to plain rain to chunky flakes in Lake Grove.

    I’m surprised, that’s pretty far south.

    36 with light to occasionally moderate snow in Lake Grove, no accumulation. That “it’s gonna snow” feel outside a few hours before an event remains undefeated.

    Assuming we had an inversion overnight because it smelled like a racetrack this morning. Low was 24 with heavy frost.

    Seeing everyone panic in the storm thread is better than seeing snow.
