  1. And that area floods almost as bad as the immediate south shore.
  2. Made it home with literally 40 seconds to spare. Absolutely pouring with CTG’s raining down.
  3. It’s good to see the NHC learned from Sandy by issuing Hurricane Warnings for Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.
  4. Front pushing in, it’s 68 here and 62 at a relative’s house <2 miles west.
  5. Very loud, Florida-like thunder with some of these lightning bolts. Only 0.23” but better than nothing.
  6. We recently had mid 90’s in October. Newark also hit 80 in February a few years back. Not the same circumstances, but I’ve come to never say never.
  7. Bottomed out at 50. That was a close one. Feels not so good outside rn.
  8. Tiny cell northeast of Bridgeport (and 25+ miles nw of me) illuminated by the setting sun. My iPhone didn’t do the colors much justice.
  9. 1.43” from this round. I’m shocked.
  10. 1.25” storm total, honestly much more than I expected. September so far is already close to my total for all of August.
  11. 0.69” so far. Under a band now w/ rates just under half an inch per hour.
  12. 0.41” which is better than nothing.
  13. Only 0.16” so far. I got lucky yesterday with 0.62” but with 4” per hour rates much of it ends up running off.
  14. Long Island is molting into Aruba.
  15. I got lucky with 0.62”, I very nearly got nothing. Steam bath now with dews in the deep 70’s and temps in the 80’s.
  16. Topped out at 88. Currently 76.
  17. I just realized August 1st (high of 75) spoiled what would’ve been an 18-day 90+ stretch for me, and had both August 1st and 10th (high of 89) hit 90 that could’ve been a 20-day stretch. Insane.
  18. Topped out at 90, if only yesterday did the same (hit 89) this would’ve been a heat wave (for the millionth time this summer).
  19. Jun: 80.6/59.0 (69.8) - 4.88” July: 88.3/67.1 (77.8) - 3.72” Aug: 89.2/66.8 (78.0) - 2.00” Met Summer - 86.1/64.4 (75.3) - 10.60” I haven’t checked but I’m fairly certain that this was the warmest July and August for my PWS, which has been operational since 2018.
  20. The entirety of August felt delightful.
  21. Low of 68. Currently 74. .01” fell overnight.
  22. High of 91, low of 71. Currently 77. 33rd 90 of the year.
  23. When’s the last time we saw an actual squall line like this?
  24. 88/66 split today. Currently 78.
