  1. Warmed up to 73 and now it’s 64 and raining.
  2. I used to live next to the LIE, which was a north shore vs south shore climate battleground. The sea breeze didn't always make it that far inland, but its appearance was normally the hottest part of the day. I watched this happen in real time today, my temp spiked up to 94 and quickly fell back into the 88-90 range. This happened over the course of a few minutes. Now I have a fake high temp for my records. Yesterday felt hotter with sustained 90’s.
  3. Hit 90 again here, currently 89. First 60 (69 on Jan 4) First 70 (73 on Feb 16) First 80 (84 on Apr 12) First 90 (91 on Apr 13) All early this year.
  4. Running about a degree ahead of yesterday at this time, currently 88.
  5. High was 91.2, currently 86.7.
  6. 89. First 80 and first 90 back to back? (Knock on wood)
  7. Already at 78, pulling way ahead of yesterday’s 67 at this time (9 AM). High was 84 yesterday.
  8. Thanks a ton for this. I could never find a thorough explanation anywhere.
  9. I wish I knew how to fully interpret these.
  10. I’ve never been beyond Cracker Barrel in Fishkill, does that count as upstate?
  11. Topped out at 78. Pleasant surprise.
  12. Don’t know the temp but it’s sunny and very warm on the south shore, borderline hot in the sun. Wunderground showing 76-77 around here which feels accurate.
  13. Me too, LI especially (Queens native and I’m starving out here). We were off to an acceptable start last year but the drought just killed it all.
  14. That’s scary close. I was inside of a store and I heard a few screams. It sounded like it wanted to come through the ceiling.
  15. Movie theater audio thunder right now in Lake Grove. I could hear the roof/ceiling vibrating.
  16. Finally clearing out here. Temp is 57.
  17. Sleeting so loud I thought it was hail.
  18. I still can’t believe there was a time when Bastardi was the only met I followed. I have almost zero forecasting prowess and I’ve been right more often than him by simply going with the opposite of whatever he says.
  19. CT highways are more frustrating than LI highways to me. I find the traffic flow on 495 and the Southern State Pkwy to be much more predictable than 95, 84, or Merritt Pkwy even if LI’s traffic volume is greater overall. I’ll take NJ over either of them though.
  20. I’m east of you and the snow didn’t really accumulate under that band. OKX reported only 0.6” at 8 PM after hours of heavy snow.
  21. We (largely) had hours upon hours of heavy snow and decent winds, almost blizzard-like at times but with no/little accumulation. Not sure how this can be considered a bust. I enjoyed it.
  22. Tbh there hasn’t been much accumulation with this band even though the sun has gone down. It’s been ripping but it’s also melting as my wx station’s rainfall total keeps increasing. Temp is 33.
