  1. im just waiting for the thread to go storm mode and the 5-postings to begin.
  2. If I recall from the 2016 storm, metro has an amount of snow where they run only the underground portions of rail? Don't know we'll get to that number here but I do recall that being a thing.
  3. Inject this directly into my veins.
  4. BWI: 4.0" DCA: 2.4" IAD: 3.1" RIC: 0.0" Tiebreaker (SBY): 0.2"
  5. What is this bright yellow thing in the sky? It hurts when I try to look at it.
  6. I'm done with the heat, I'm tired of waking up at 0530 to run in a swamp. Give me 50s and wet over 72 and humid so I can train for the marine corps marathon in peace.
  7. Pretty much everyone Moco and points south and east are going to at least get some respite from the heat tonight. Just take the rain. A nice light show is a bonus. As much as I love severe, I really don't want to deal with a power outage with this heat.
  8. There is was a pixels worth of CC Drop associated with the couplet on the last scan. Whether that's noise or a small spin up we'll see soon enough.
  9. I just would like to see something exciting. Nothing life altering but tons of lightning, some good winds and non-car denting hail.
  10. max I experienced was pea sized hail at 270/shady Grove.
  11. some juicy mammatus ahead of the Germantown cell currently warned
  12. Have backup routes planned ahead of time is what I've found out to be best. From DC, you could do 70 to the PA turnpike but everyone is going to be doing that route so it's going to be stupidly packed. Next option is I-68 to I-79 in Morgantown and go North. If that doesn't work US-40 to PA-43 to PA-51 to backdoor your way into Pittsburgh to points North. My guess is that PA-43 isn't going to be extremely packed since it is a toll road but not an interstate. We'll find out.
  13. I'm planning to drive to Erie, PA for eclipse. I remember driving to Clemson, SC for the last totality event and holy moly was traffic crazy the day of so I'm ready for it this time. I'm expecting major arteries to be extremely busy. This one'll be my third but hopefully won't be clouded over like my first eclipse.
  14. Ripping snow in Bethesda. Nothing sticking, vis about 0.75 mi.
  15. "We got the 28-3 head coach! No, not Belichick, the other one!"
  16. Stafford airport is currently an urban heat island at 90F with light drizzle.
  17. I'm minorly irked at OPM. Nothing like the terror of sliding down the only way out of your apartment with no control on a side street into a extremely busy and properly salted colesville rd. Feel like today should've been the closure and Tuesday the 2 hour delayed arrival.
  18. Waiting for OPM to make a move (I know it's not going to do anything until way late).
  19. That can't be right, apparently 3 miles away in Georgetown there hasn't been a flake all day!
