Of course, the precip avg is going to be less with a cold pattern . Above normal snow can result with below average precip as we all know.

Yeah, shades of Dec 89 with a touch of January 2014 and Feb 2015 with those looks.

Mid to Long Range Discussion ~ 2024
Daniel Boone replied to buckeyefan1's topic in Southeastern States
Just hopefully not afterward as rest of Winter stunk. -
With you man. Deep diving NS Systems are a rarity anymore. Clippers have become nearly extinct. Webber has a good Write-up on X on the how's and why's this may be one of those Winter's. Great presentation by him.

2024-2025 Winter Ideas and Discussion

I can see where you're coming from Jeff, particularly down there. Hopefully, this Winter will buck the trend and the research Eric Webber has merit and that Pattern comes to fruition more times than not and you guys can get in on the goods for a change. -

Excellent research and presentation by him. A must read for all of us imo. Could be a shock to many if that Pattern does as his research suggests. -
My official measurement was 2.9. KMRX put a Map out with totals. It was way low for Lee County. I realized I forgot to call them this Morning. Just spoke with them. Hopefully they correct it. They have Jonesville with 05-1 ". I went through there this morning and there was at least a couple inches. Pennington gap had less with an inch or a little more.

It went up some here to . There was a constant SSW Wind through the Night.

Measurement of 3 inches of Snow here 3 miles east of Jonesville VA on Snow board and raised Surfaces as of 6:30 AM . 1-3 on ground. Warm ground causing melting underneath. Some light snow still falling. Temperature is up to 31.7 so melting getting ready to take place. Pic is of Lawn Chairs where it all stuck.
-
Is that hunting Dogs ?
-
Yeah. It's melting underneath.
-
That's sad man. We had flakes like that this Afternoon in the Snow Shower's but was above freezing so didn't stick. A dusting from those in the heavier ones but melted quickly.

About an inch here . Rather surprising considering the small flakes although, quarter inch diameter flakes came down thick for awhile so, apparently why. Hopefully, Snow fills back in.

You're getting the larger Flakes. Must be the Temperature difference allowing for more lift and precip production. Demarcation. More going to mount up further South than Forecasted.
-
About an inch here now. Been steady small flakes. Had we of got some larger flakes we'd be in great shape. Currently 30.0 degrees.
-
Spoke with NWS. Snow is falling there but not sticking yet.
-
Hmm..rather odd but, occasionally does happen. I'll call the NWS and see what they have.
