When the clouds break, we’ll take off. Models kept it cloudy the last 2 days so they were too cold. Watch this be the day the clouds hang on.

@GaWx @donsutherland1 Heres the paper I was looking for regarding strong +AO response to volcanic eruptions. Given this and the solar max/high geomag/sunspots, +QBO, I would say at this very early juncture that a +AO/+NAO winter is highly favored as of right now: https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1029/2005JD006286 -
Maybe I need to convince my boss to let me take my birthday off from work...

Yeah, with the way the extended looks, I am planning on rolling out the garden a couple weeks early. -

Hopefully not soggy. Nam may be a bit less wet though some other models are a washout.

Yeah, still no extended 80° warm ups showing up just yet. We have been consistently getting a day or two of 80° plus from Newark east to here in Southern New England followed by backdoors. Looks like the Euro and GFS shift us back to a wetter pattern.

And for those who were keeping up with the Monckton Pause updates we now have a warming rate of +0.32 C/decade since the start of Monckton's most recent pause period at its peak from 2014/06. That is a lot of warming for a period that was supposed to be the end-all-be-all proof that warming had stopped.

Yup, and the opposite for offshore winds. I remember we had a stretch of a couple weeks in the middle of summer with a west wind. Water temps dropped down into the mid 50s when typically it should be around 72-74. The water was so clear, it was like the Carribean

Pesky fog lingering around at the beach. It's going to be gorgeous. If only the water wasn't 51 degrees

Yea. The waterbury spot has disappointed as well. They’ve burned my pies twice now and overloaded on sauce. Danbury is still good but if you’re gonna go, it’s the original New Haven or bust.

Some rumbles here in PWM. -
My guess is that climate change starts becoming so expensive for our economy to handle that we turn things around before we reach PETM levels of warmth. So an intermediate warmer climate state between what we used to have and prehistoric times. We will probably have to be on the move away from coastal areas that flood and areas where desertification occurs limiting agriculture.

I am a little jittery over here waiting. I am going to make the call with the 12Z runs. Some meso's have rain too close to me by 7PM tomorrow.
