Definitely having brownouts in this area today. We have window air conditioners in the living room and the bedrooms upstairs, and apparently the living room and one of the bedrooms are on the same electrical circuit as they shut off twice today. We have lived in this house for over 45 years and never had this happen. The work around was to find a bedroom outlet not on the same circuit and use the heavy duty extension to keep them both running.

I was walking along the shore one day back in Long Beach and one of them flew very low right over the beach at Pacific BLVD. They come up on your position silently and you only hear the engine roar once they are past. It was a pretty wild experience even compared to all the beach parties back in those days.

yes it is over 103 at my house with the winds now blowing from over the mountains heatint us up even more. Typical day in Southern Cal for me. I see a drought emergecy being delared for Lehigh county by the end of next week if we do get any t- storms after Saturday night. The corn is spiking and soybeans are now shriveling

High was 96 yesterday and 97 today. Now 96. But those GFS maps a day ago were showing 100+ for both days here, Friday, too. Tomorrow will be similar to today. Just your normal summer heat wave, nothing abnormal from a climate standpoint. If the Euro is right, Tuesday you might need a sweater or jacket on the golf course. And an umbrella.
