The refrigerant under the ice will be fine no matter the ambient air temp.

The white Christmas theme is baked into us. But really is there any scene more beautiful than Christmas Lights with fresh fallen snow Those of us old old weenies know winter just began in SNE this week. So much time left. The Patriots fans declaring victory up 21 to 0 are our winter over peeps. -
After a low of 13.5, temp is 41 which feels very comfortable compared to yesterday.

Yep. Not panicking yet, but if we haven’t moved that Aleutian Ridge by week 2 in Jan, I’ll get really bearish.
-
I just hope we start seeing legit signs of something better in January before January turns into February

Selfishly, I spend most of my time here and would love to get our former forum stalwarts back to posting on AmericanWx. We’ve segmented more the last few years by region since many have dropped off and I think that’s only enhanced discussions.

DCA's mean maximum for the entire month of December is 67F.
-
he means the average maximum temperature over the entire half month period - meaning, what's the warmest it will get, on average, for the last half of December. Mid 60s seems right - meaning, on average, DC should see one day where it hits 64F during this period.

I don’t think that Aleutian Ridge is going anywhere on its on. @Daniel Boone pointed this out in the TV thread, but the only way to glory soon is to back our blocking west, boot the death ridge to the west coast and shove that Aleutian Ridge into a more optimal spot deep into Russia. I do think we get a strong -NAO but it remains to be seen if that has the downstream effects we need.

The two forums are very intertwined between many (probably a majority) of its members also being members and former posters here as well as some currently posting at both (in some cases with different names). I’m sure many read both boards daily.

I think people drive themselves crazy so early that they burn themselves out. So basically what you're saying is just get rid of January and February because they're not going to count now. My suggestion is anybody who feels like it's over should just stop posting. Makes no sense to keep posting crap if you're done with the season already lol. Why is it the same thing every year. I just don't get why people agonize over stupid shyte -

I’ve got a kid in daycare and it’s been an absolute nightmare of viruses since September really. This fall and winter has been a sick season on steroids. -
A little better confluence there.

34 is the high for the day. Enjoying the last day of full snow cover. Some bare spots here and there, but pretty impressive how long 2" or less can hang on this time of year with the cold and low sun. Pretty rare to see lately before Xmas.

I remember being at my grandparents’ on New Year’s Eve and snow changing to rain. I then remember going to church in January in shorts, and then it snowed in early April. Best part is that I got to do the weather report for my class the first week of December. Wild second grade for sure. .

You don’t have to. I peak over there to cross check the vibes and today is a hilarious war of words. That’s why I stick here. Everything is measured and while they have some great posters, it’s full of too many folks speaking in absolutes and getting obnoxious when the ball doesn’t roll their way. I go here to converse, read anything from @Carvers Gapto learn, and head there for my entertainment.

We can’t get there fast enough.

I was eyeballing pivotal for the EPS AIFS and it seemed to cut the warmth off better vs EPS. Is there a 10-15 day of those from Weatherbell?

This torch clamour is silly

Lol .. no it's just starting. Everybody so laser focused on Christmas and what the weather's bringing. Thinking winter's over. Lord!!! I really feel there'll be a lot more happy people by the time we get to March. -

That’s incorrect DCA normal high temp for 2nd half of December is no where near 64 , more like 49
