Looking ahead toward the late week into weekend period, additional perturbations in the flow keep low-end probabilities (15 to 25 percent) for precipitation in the forecast. As temperatures cool through the week, some of this would be comprised of a rain/snow mix. The overall surface pattern does show high pressure building in from the Great Lakes while a wavy frontal zone arcs along the southern U.S. Uncertainty is unusually high toward the end of the period given the complexities of the flow to resolve. Deterministic models continue to vary wildly from run to run, but this is not surprising at this point. It does remain a period to monitor ahead.

Bridgeport, Central Park, Islip, JFK Airport, LaGuardia Airport, Newark, and White Plains have all registered daily low temperatures below 10° for the second consecutive day. The last time that occurred was January 30-31, 2019.

-1 for the temperature this morning. With supposedly a 48 mph wind gust yesterday. NWS is saying my high yesterday was 27 degrees. Which I’m calling BS. My high was 11 degrees yesterday. Not really sure why there is that big of discrepancy? Voyager nice ride! edit: currently zero degrees.

Overnight low of -3. Currently-1. Winds still howling. I am ready to move on. The week ahead looks dry with moderating cold. No torch but a least closer to normal by the end of the week. The current snow pack is frozen solid and the mounds will be around for weeks to come out this way.
