  1. Past hour
  2. As others have noted, a pretty muted severe weather day so far, especially in PA. See what kind of winds the cold frontal rain band can generate this evening but it seems as though the convective severe threat has waned for many .
  3. Exactly. I get why they did. Others may not and I have it easy as I work from home so it’s no biggie to me that mine came home early. I understand it’s not as easy for others.
  4. Oh I understand that of course. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't type deal.
  5. Looks like we ended up somewhere in the 10" range here. Very hard to tell exactly how much because of the drifting though. Sun is starting to peek through here, although we still have several hours of blowing snow to go before it finally calms down. Will be interesting to see how long this snowpack lasts both around here and in the extreme totals up north. With 3/25/23 it took about 5 days to melt everything but the largest piles. But that was a bit later in the year and a wetter snow with some rain as well on top of it. We are supposed to hit the 50s by Friday, but we will see how much the snowpack reinforces the cold air even with March sunlight. Crazy to think that this is about the same amount of sunlight that we had when were in the upper 80s in late September last year. All in all, a very memorable storm for the state of Wisconsin and one that will be talked about for a while like the 2018 storm.
  6. CTP hasn't updated their AFD since 5am this morning. Seems like a good day to update this a little more often.
  7. And if they hadn’t and it was storming when kids let out, people would complain. Schools cannot win either way and always better to err on the side of caution than not
  8. Just a ho hum day of showers in the Skook. Got .40" in the bucket, but nothing in the way of wind. 10.4 mph peak gust so far...lol
  9. If we can get a low to spin up on the front could see a few low top spins. Also each run increasing winds.
  10. Very heavy snow at Soco Gap with the ground and road covered. Down to 39 at the house with moderate rain.
  11. I think the mountains are going to over achieve too
  12. Had between a quarter and half inch on grass and snow board befor snow lightened up for a while. So, melted some..picking backmip now. Had what we already got fell at night we'd probably had over an inch on Snow board. Alot of heat still coming up from ground and Solar heating through clouds this time of year is hampering Accs.
  13. AI version pretty far south but it’s all fun and games at this point.
  14. Had really hoped it'd stay cloudier today than it has been. Sun angle is bad enough even with the clouds. Temps several degrees above forecast.
  15. Condensation day. Slippery floors
  16. Temps falling fast here in West Asheville. Down to 41 degrees.
  17. Hopefully I have enough time to like to sit down stitch those weirdos together for for 2011. The archive goes back to 1995. So if you have other dates your interested in let me know. I've spent the last month on a learning binge trying to piece together the ridiculously fragmented data and archive environment of weather data available and tools as well. Far more daunting then I thought but I produced basically 30 pages of a guide for myself. I think in going to take on trying to get a copy of AWIPS the nws made public to run on an AWS server so that I can run out the graphics power necessary to run it per hour use basis. 20 bucks a month is a lot better than spending $5,000 to build something that can run it. That's the main software that is that the workstations of the national weather service that brings in all the desperate data feeds that they've almost made totally public now. I even got authorization to use part of there MADIS feed Sent from my SM-S731U using Tapatalk
