  1. Past hour
  2. Kind of like how you guys let go the “we dont know type stuff?” Maybe when that stops?
  3. For something that fell in such a cold DGZ it had some sneaky density to it for sure
  4. 1967 redux (Northern ORH county had 2 snow events that May including one on the Friday/Saturday of memorial day weekend)
  5. Just happy that it looks like that western ridge is finally going to break down/back the f off into the Pacific and give us some chances. I'll take that over the sh*t we've been dealing with.
  6. Still alive on the 18z NAM for friday afternoon wintry dusting 3k is more northy unfortunately, and elevation dependent as expected
  7. But some variability here. Between the Canadian, American, and European models it’s either the northeast, mid Atlantic, or upper south that gets the goods. I’ll tell you who ain’t getting the goods though. I’m no expert but no signs of anything favorable for us. Eager to be shown otherwise!
  8. There was also over 2” QPF in that. That is a shit ton to throw in a snow event. Piles were massive and unlike fluff, when you shoveled snow, it became a mountain of snow.
  9. The ski resorts out West are hoping for that outcome with the record low snowpack. But that record ridge and warmth has been beating the long range guidance since November. So we get a few days of a transient trough before the ridge returns. Eventually the trough will gain some staying power as it’s tough to lock a ridge in for 4 months without at least some relaxation for a week or two.
  10. I enjoyed this storm much more than the 2016 storm that melted 2 days later. I like winter, not just snow falling. This has been epic. I absolutely love this pack. I've hiked over 40 miles on it. Clouding up and 35. Hardly a drip and no damage to the pack.
  11. Ok man. Time to let it go and move on to other talking points.
  12. The Euro Weeklies (extended EPS) have been trending away from the mid-Feb 10 mb wind reversal: Run from just 4 days ago (1/31/26) was strongly predicting it with most members reversing sometime within 2/12-18 with lowest mean ~0: Today (2/4/26): Only 5 of 100 members reversing with lowest mean during 2/12-18 down only to ~+11:
  13. Just has that look of Pacific hangover breathe.
  14. Ya I agree, but you know the push back we get when we say this. They get irate. A few more seconds and there will be a post about the Jan thaw, and how it happened(and no doubt it certainly did), but other than that, everything else has been largely muted to date. We’ll see what happens by mid month?
  15. still waiting on that to show up and work out for them. at least the carolinas cashed in.
  16. Every single torch all fall and winter disappears. Next week was supposed to be one and now we’ve got 3 snowers
  17. This was exactly my point yesterday and the day before. Folks posting 384 clown maps of temps, and precip, and acting as if that was not going to change at all? And that was gonna be the final outcome. I never get that mentality? But yet if somebody posts a blizzard at 384 hrs, it’s laughed at. But somehow the same clown range 384 hr temp and precip map is somehow more believable, just because folks are upset that we missed the big coastal storm that hammered the SE. that idea is just lost on me. And when one questions it, we’re labeled as ACATT….?? It Beats me?
  18. Yep... Wakefield has us in the "up to 1" category...
  19. Big problem is the labor shortage. People don't talk about it but most of the contractors I know ( including me) have equipment sitting because of the lack of drivers and operators. It's only going to get worse, too.
  20. Usually that happens when the Niña breaks. Though last year it injected steroids instead.
  21. I took some time away from working from home this afternoon to use the snowblower to clear a path to the oil and propane fills. Looking ahead it looks like we will have a decent pack on the ground middle of the month when I am due for both! Snow was still pretty fluffy here and easy to move. About 9 inches still on the ground. Was happy I could cut through a big snow bank to the road though. I do feel bad for the oil men when people don't clear a path. I know it can't be fun searching for the fill.
