  1. Past hour
  2. i enjoyed the rain when i went out this morning it was cool enough i even wore a light jacket..
  3. Interesting cloud behavior on satellite. They seem to be holding stationary to the north and west of the major mountain divides. BTV and BML say 2600ish ceilings. IZG despite the early clearing still only managing 84 at this hour.
  4. How did the MCS predicted to be in upstate NY end up three or four hundred miles south? Unreal
  5. This article seems to suggest a positive correlation between the AMO and WPO, which adds up intuitively based on the continued +AMO, but I haven't looked closely throughout history. https://www.nature.com/articles/ncomms15998
  6. I wonder what kind of rain totals are occurring up and around the Binghamton area. It looks like some training was taking place up that way and they have been building back to some extent as the morning progresses.
  7. Nice there's a little breeze today. If you're just sitting on your ass it actually pretty nice out.
  8. It’s a kiddie pool and splash pad kind of day. These are the good old days.
  9. So help me understand... Where did this crap come from that no one saw coming a few days ago? We were supposed to finally have a dry weekend and multiple rain-free days. What happened?
  10. DEWS. It will be the Heat Index people will feel. The most uncomfortable, inescapable feeling is 90F+ with a dew of 75F or higher. Desert heat isn't the same because of the feel. Classic Heat Wave. "Welcome to the party pal."
  11. Uniquely odd clearing building down NE-SW (ish)
  12. Tied the record warm minimum yesterday. Should easily break it today. active stretch coming up starting tomorrow evening. Looking forward to it
  13. Yea, I agree with this...I'm just saying there is a reason that -PNA/-NAO patterns have struggled more and it's the west Pacific. When they worked in the past, it was always with a -WPO. We look poised for yet another +WPO season.....ugh.
  14. 76 . 70 steam bath ensuing once we clear out
  15. This coming heat dome is very powerful. Even with the rain/clouds holding temps down, it still wouldn't surprise me if everyone hits 90F late day. HRRR shows a tropical steam bath this afternoon
  16. Good question this further sw track argued the ridge is building in a bit later so would go with more onshore component eastern sections.
  17. Flash flood warnings in NE PA. Who had that on their bingo card for today?
  18. The nice thing about the heat is there’s no real screwjobs or jackpots. It’s sweaty cracks for all.
  19. Does this have any implications for tomorrow's wind direction?
  20. Hot through Weds. Normal or slightly AN end of week into weekend.
  21. Hottest day of the year will be in July, not June, is what I have been saying.
