  1. Past hour
  2. Gust to 76mph earlier on the Lake Placid Mesonet. SLK has gusted to 51. Snowpack being decimated and this is coming.
  3. Wind hype not materializing here (yet?). I'm at over 900' on the top of a hill with only farmland/no obstructions. Highest gust at 9 meters was 38mph, under very strong radar returns. When these storms pass and the winds kick from the west/northwest, & inversion breaks down, it is usually much more impressive here in terms of sustained and gusts. (Except for 12/23/22...that was a monster during the main event.)
  4. we valley...until 2 hours ago when temp shot up to 50. my 6" snowpack is gonna take a lickin'.
  5. If the CFSv2 seasonal is right this morning, LC is could be set to score a pretty coveted seasonal win....and I mean an outright thumping. He dared to go the exact opposite of many seasonal ideas.
  6. It’s just better all around. Better for the 23rd and offers chances after that. Overall colder and snowier look.
  7. If this continues to show up on the models for Tuesday the road departments will begin spreading the salt/liquid ice melter or whatever Monday afternoon and we begin the cycle all over again
  8. “If everyone will just accept this new paradigm…”
  9. Depends where but maybe like 10:30 to 1:30 or so there? You’ll be in western edge I think.
  10. Winds verified up here. Lost power from about 4AM to 7AM. Schools closed due to a few trees down in town and ongoing power outages. Large diseased ash came down in yard.
  11. I believe it, You didn't even go help your neighbors a week or so ago.
  12. Ideally we want the cutter. I think it shakes up the 500 pattern. As for wind, hole mackerel it is howling out there. On my run this morning, I saw a roof blown off shed, and poly from another roof. Constant roar out there right now.
  13. I think @512high Phil is the only person that religiously follows my content I'm okay with it....I do it for myself, for the most part.....to keep learning and maintain my writing skills.
  14. Models are all over the place for the next 10 days or so, Nothing looks immanent.
  15. Yep. Gonna need temps behind rain to recover though.
  16. .45 here. Two hours later:
  17. Judging from the radar, looks like the back edge of the rain should be out of here early this afternoon. Currently 56F.
