Central PA Winter 25/26 Discussion and Obs
Yardstickgozinya replied to MAG5035's topic in Upstate New York/Pennsylvania
Yes, unlike last event, this snow has absolutely no sound which which adds to the tranquility of the event. And as most of us know, if you can hear the snow you're playing with thermal fuckery. -
12/14: Sunday funday? Will the south win again?
stormtracker replied to TSSN+'s topic in Mid Atlantic
Smart. I'll prob still be up. I missed most of the first snowfall. -
Coming up 270 from DC. Hit rain then a heavy band of flurries in NoMo County around the truck scales. Flurries continued until we got right to the South side of Frederick. Then absolutely nothing. Wet roads but by the time we worked our way to my neighborhood the roads are still dry and crusted over with salt. Should have known the weather hole I live in would not disappoint.

This one is annoying. I just want a medium range threat to track that we're all in on. Will would even post the HRRR when it's good for us. -
Post obs/totals here. Currently 33, small dusting on my deck, flurries

Literally mentioned this to my Dad. I think it’s a little coastal enhancement over Sussex Co. These are nowcast features, but it’s interesting NAMNest and HRRR to some degree are showing it. I’ll be keeping an eye on it myself. -

Moderate snowfall 12/14/2025 WWA up for most of the area
dseagull replied to WeatherGeek2025's topic in New York City Metro
Enjoy. Warmer and lackluster down here in waretown. -
Hard pass on the amount of CAD for me. I just can’t deal with -20 or -30. If that’s the price of not having any winter thaws, it’s a bit steep. I love 20s and snowcover, but the below zero crap is too much. I don’t care if it’s a “dry cold” or whatever. Still too f***ing cold for me. If you can find the place where the ground is white the full 3 months of meteorological winter, I need to find the place where the grass stays green all summer without excessive watering.

Central PA Winter 25/26 Discussion and Obs

I like seeing the warmer temperatures in southeast PA, such as the 40 at Philly International at the 9 pm. Ob. The temperature contrast with colder temps in NW PA could help us in the LSV with the better precipitation rates eventually. -
I think this is the first time my point and click has had a forecast of 2 - 4 but with no WWA. I guess because once you get past hagerstown models don't show much. Majority of Washington county will probably see at max of an inch.

Interesting to see the tiny stripe of higher totals on both NAMs in S DE. Noteworthy enough that the local CBS met mentioned it on a Livestream and bumped his snowfall forecast south to account for it. Sent from my Pixel 9 Pro XL using Tapatalk

Looks like the lead band is getting juiced up in the last few frames of the radar.
