  2. Chris if we just go decade by decade, and compare NYC, JFK, LGA AND EWR, how do they all compare for the following 10 year periods: 1980-1989 1990-1999 2000-2009 2010-2019
  3. the moon was gorgeous last night too!!
  4. 1999 and 2002 still had no problems getting extended heatwaves though. 2010 should have the record for most 90 degree days though, it was our hottest summer by a mile.
  5. I can feel an uptick in humidity today and it’s awesome. The weather pattern this spring feels like more typical MA than prior years. The desire I have for dry, nw flows is limited.
  6. They run 2° too hot, nyc 2° too cold. Just average them to make yourself happy. Question though for you. What's the difference between solar shades that all official stations use vs natural shade? Aren't both in the shade? I know underneath the stations matter (concrete vs grass), but can't find much about why different types of shade matter.
  7. What an absolute stunning morning!!! Clear blue skies driving in, 50 degree with that nice crisp chill in the air. Gorgeous.
  8. He was in the u50s all afternoon until after 5pm. It wasn’t a nice day there…not for May anyway.
  9. Yesterday was epic down here 70-73 clear skies after 1pm
  10. Today
  11. 55-60. Congrats on deep summer and stein 63. Did you go to a pool party? Maybe the beach?
  12. I guess the fact that the rain will be spread out over several days will keep flooding down, but still, the ground is so saturated from last week, Creek and river levels will still be pretty high.
  13. Ten seconds of sun about 5:30, peeking thru a rift in the clouds. May 1-10, one sunny day, 2 PC, 7 cloudy. Just under 3" so no flooding, just endless wet - only 5/1 had no rain.
  14. It is looking like the last event where interior areas do better than places further east. Hopefully I can get break a tenth of an inch this time.
  15. You literally forecast low 50’s, cloudy and cold. I even quoted your post . Ended up 63 and sunny. It’s a pretty solid defeat
  16. I was off by a couple degrees. When will you lick your wounds from the deep summer and stein calls?
  17. I've learned. I go with the model with less weather. The gfs doesn't look very impressive. Here comes the walk back to sprinkles lol
  18. Huge actually since Newark wasn't moved from a forest to an airport.
  19. Yeah, moving the ASOS into the shade in 1995 really skewed the values. In the roughly 30 year period since 1996 NYC has had only 461 days reaching 90 vs 817 days at Newark and 631 at LGA. The previous 30 year period from 1961 to 1990 featured 550 days in NYC with 689 at Newark and 410 at LGA. Harrison has become the new 90° day leader across the area surpassing Plainfield from 1961-1990. 1961-1990 # of 90 days EWR….689 NYC….550 LGA….410 1996-2024 #90 days EWR…817 LGA…631 NYC…461 Data for January 1, 1996 through December 31, 2024 Click column heading to sort ascending, click again to sort descending. 20. We knew you wouldn’t offer pat on back and admit defeat. Happy Mothers Day
  21. All I've got to say is that I'm not looking forward to another week long multi day rain event, but this week to be a repeat of last week with rain chances from Tuesday into next weekend. Ugh... The dark and drearies are not good for someone battling depression.
