ACE is now at 37.14 with just a little more to be added from Fernand. This puts 2024 13th highest of the last 75 (83 percentile). The 1951-2024 avg through today is only 22. However, Invest 90L headed to the W Caribbean is now considered dead. Overall, the models including Euro Weeklies continue to look quite a bit quieter than climo through the 1st half of Sept. If that verifies, we’d quickly fall back down to at least NN ACE. From that point on, it would still remain to be seen whether or not PhiEaglesfan will be right about Erin being about the only big deal this season. I’ll be more than happy to give him kudos if he were to be right. There’s still such a long way to go, especially in a cold ENSO season, which are often backended.

Funny, you don't see Bastardi trot out his population-weighted metrics in recent summers. Loves to pop them out when there's a trough in the east though. -
75 / 67 - mid - upper 80s, perhaps an outside shot of 90 in the SW flow, in the hottest spots - lower chances. Warmest/hottest for next 7 - 10 days. Trough builds in and cooler Tue - the coming weekend. Next shot at rain still exists Wed Pm - Thu, Euro the most enthusiastic. Warmer towards next week, some models show cutoff with massive ridge into Canada and weakness caught below which would signal a wetter period towards the middle of next week before Atlantic ridge builds in and a more prolonged warmer period overall.

Today will be the warmest day but not too far from average for the date. Tonight we fall into the 50's for lows which will continue each night for at least the next week. I suspect by Thursday and Friday morning we may see some of our chillier valley locations fall into the 40's. Highs throughout the week will be in the low to mid 70's with low humidity. Enjoy!

Today will be the warmest day but not too far from average for the date. Tonight we fall into the 50's for lows which will continue each night for at least the next week. I suspect by Thursday and Friday morning we may see some of our chillier valley locations fall into the 40's. Highs throughout the week will be in the low to mid 70's with low humidity. Enjoy! -

85.8 yesterday. Today is probably the only shot to hit 90 here this month and forecasts are for us to top out about 3 degrees shy. When the hot airmass is shy of 90 in August you are in a fantastic pattern. Didn’t realize it had rained a little this weekend but got 0.04” which brings the month to 9.18”

Maine public lands has had good results from seeding logyards and winter roads just before spring breakup. They can still get to the sites with the 4-wheelers with attached spreaders then and the catch has been satisfactory. Their seed mix isn't lawn grass; it's designed to limit erosion and provide food for wildlife.
