I’m not typically the optimist but I do think this will come in more favorably at 12z. There has been some subtle changes that I’ve noticed. Slightly better ridging ahead of system as well as some weakness between the systems to the north. We are also see an overall strengthening of the system, which also assists with pumping up those heights ahead of system.

Light dusting here this morning. Congratulations to @1234snowon the snow! I thought I would share the 0z Euro from overnight. This is a major feature on the map, and must be worked out before we know sensible weather on the ground. That is a legit cold air mass. Both the GFS and Euro have below zero and single digit temps descending into the forum area w/ the amplification just after the 25th. Is this a real feature? No idea. Modeling has done a good job of spotting cold fronts recently after struggling earlier this month. However, they have tended to over due the southward extension of the cold and the intensity. If this were to verify, that is a major ice setup in the eastern Valley.

Once Again. There’s an Ounce of Hope, and Kevin IMMEDIATELY goes into HECS mode. And somehow the We Also Gave Up OTS Storm will end up giving me 0.5” but him 3” and he’ll proclaim “See I Was Right!”

Well I can tell you the roads up here are already white and it’s sticking. Over performing road salt.

Same here in Rocky Mount Va. It's been sleeting and snowing for a while now. It's weird radar says rain but ground truth is white other than the roads.
