  1. Past hour
  2. Radar makes it seem like sleet is moving in here to Ridgewood NJ but all snow so far. Haven’t been outside in awhile to measure .
  3. Mine is set at 73 and it's running for 45 minutes every hour. I've got a damper issue (can't access it without destroying a ceiling) that is shunting a lot of the air up to the 2nd story, plus the thermostat is mounted on the wall to the garage. Not exactly the ideal gas law here.
  4. A lot of people didn’t get what was forecasted however we just remember the 3+ years where we didn’t get anything! All I’m saying is it’s nice to have something!
  5. Hooralph measured 8” in the Upper West Sode so it’s not hugely off. Small chance they make 10” IMO adding sleet.
  6. Worried about yall. Pulling for minimal outages your way
  7. 8.5” new. 11f with very heavy snow. Eyes on radar looks like CC has sleet washing out as it approaches for now .
  8. Anyone know last time the three major airports went below zero actual temperature? Thinking we have a few nights upcoming where we will do so.
  9. Full-on pinging in Elmhurst now.
  10. KNHK (Pax River NAS) is reporting -FZRA. It begins.
  11. Same here. Ice is building up quickly on some pines
  12. Looks like there's still snow back to St. Louis, so I wouldn't think so.
  13. Wave after wave of yellow returns in Gaithersburg. This is going to be a memorable storm y'all.
  14. That's their official 1 PM reading. Insane lol that's barely 10-1 ratios through 1 PM. It was like Aspen with ratios when the storm started for a few hours. .
  15. Maybe the globals weren't so bad after all when you include the sleet with the snow maps.
  16. snow and sleet is having a mighty battle against my window now sounds like snow is starting to win
  17. Here in Carlisle just after 2:00pm...after enjoying the snow globe show for less than 30 minutes, the transition back to 100% sleet has taken place for a second time. During the past hour there was a mixture of snow and sleet. From primarily snow, I measured an additional 0.2" of snow with some sleet. This brings my storm total to 6.8". The temperature has risen just a tad to 12.2 degrees, which is still unbelievable that I've been in the low teens the entire day. Let's see what this next hour brings.
  18. We probably have about 2.5-3 otg. Snow growth is inconsistent but tremendous in bands. This photo is from the first of the heavy stuff. Just near white-out conditions circa 12:45
  19. I'd generally agree on the winter event scale. While not a HECS with 20"+ snow, it's obviously very high-impact and it won't be disappearing anytime soon (making the impact even greater). The amount of sleet on top of the snow is insane. And it is "dry" sleet (if that's a thing), not the kind that clings together on the ground. It almost literally blows around with a gust of wind (or walking through it). I'm sure that will freeze solid at some point.
