  2. Stein ends in a week or so. Enjoy it now because it will be…
  3. Huh? Why does something need to be more impressive than something else? It's all impressive. I'm just not all that surprised by that. That's what super el nino does.
  4. 41 degrees this morning. Weather has been beautiful, but we could use some rain. My water I fish is getting pretty skinny. TGIF
  5. That bodes well imby too. I'd take that in a heartbeat.
  6. 10 to 40"...well that narrows it down
  7. DCA clocking in with a dry October, with almost an inch and a half deficit. Approaching -7.5” on the year.

  9. Been averaging 12-13” a winter since I moved back here including the 2022-23 rat. This prediction triples that, so I’d love to see it actually happen. I’m a tad more bearish but we only need one storm!
  10. Steve DiMartino's winter forecast. It's NY/NJ/PA centric, but his maps include part of this forum fwiw. https://nynjpaweather.com/public/2026/10/30/winter-forecast-2026-27/
  11. Steve DiMartinio's winter forecast. Used to post on AmericanWx https://nynjpaweather.com/public/2026/10/30/winter-forecast-2026-27/
  12. Yes remember having no power as the snowstorm came. Not to many places have a hurricane and then a snowstorm a week later.
  13. 54 real degrees, no frost this morning
  14. This dry spell came at a great time for the foliage. Sure the wind blows plenty down but I find the rain is just as bad if not worse.
  15. Steve D winter outlook https://nynjpaweather.com/public/2026/10/30/winter-forecast-2026-27/

  17. The surface warming across the Northern Hemisphere going into November with this historic El Niño is more impressive than what is happening in the stratosphere.
  18. Today
  19. Regardless of any consequences, it appears increasingly likely that this is going to occur. GEFS up to 94% now. EPS still 100% plus seeing the operational EURO continue a trend to prolong it is interesting also.
  20. Our area got the warm and dry San Diego weather this month while they got all the rain with the historic super El Niño.
  21. November DCA _ NYC _ BOS _ ORD _ ATL _ IAH _ DEN _ PHX _ SEA +2.1 +1.7 +1.9 +2.7 +1.4 +1.7 +2.5 +2.1 +1.5
  22. Remember that well. Got my power back on 2 days before the snow then have it go off during the storm, then waiting on line in the snow to get gas for the genny. Looked like Russia lol
  23. The ridge across the CONUS In October 2026 has been much stronger than 1997. So we didn’t get the Southeast trough this month that 1997 had. It’s why this was one of the warmest Octobers on record across the CONUS vs the much cooler 1997. The North Pacific low was also focused further south near Southern California snd the Baja. Also note the flip of the North Pacific pattern associated with the record warm pool from Japan to North of Hawaii. So this lead to the reversal of the WPO to positive this month rather than more negative in 1997. The strongest ridge axis in the Upper Midwest is making an earlier appearance. We usually have to wait until the winter for this El Niño ridge to emerge.
