  2. Per Twitter, he settled on a concrete masonry building up on a hill. Def safe from surge i'm sure, but will be battling the wind. There's a chance he might catch the 2nd strongest Hurricane landfall ever. Think about that for a second. Unreal.
  3. He's in a concrete villa. He will be fine. With daylight hours it should be intense footage.
  4. There's a peer reviewed study that states there's an anti-correlation between the two. We can scribble whatever we want on the back of a napkin but unless there's another peer reviewed study saying otherwise, there's an anti-correlation, no positive correlation.
  5. for anyone interested, here's a live stormtracker live feed from treasure isl.
  6. Josh is a crazy guy!! He’s really trying to penetrate the eye. Really hope he will be OK!!
  7. Yeah now they are handling it but once whomever gets into the eastern eye wall it’s not going to pretty. Don’t downplay a most likely disaster unfortunately for some with winds at 175 and gusts over 200. Also many have said a lot of the population lives way above sea level.
  8. I would imagine things are really picking up on Treasure Beach right now as the core is closing in as we speak.
  9. Josh settled on a location in Treasure Beach. He’s going to get nailed (as he usually does).
  10. Montego Bay stopped reporting. Was gusting near 50kts earlier.
  11. I found this on you tube, Mandeville Jamaica https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ov6mC9CdGVE
  12. Does anyone know the island well enough to share a live feed from near the expected landfall?
  13. NWS says around 1.5 inches here...fingers crossed.
  14. Low 25/24.1. I have been outside. Feels like 22 or so here in the Connecticut River Valley. Nice, if you bundle up!
  15. Looks like some freezing rain on Mt. Mitchell: https://nchighpeaks.org/cam11/cam11view.php
  16. the weather doesn’t look that bad there from the live cams I’ve seen gusts only in the 50’s. they will be able to handle this no problem mon
  17. The preliminary global mean temperature for October 26 was 14.99°C. That would easily surpass the existing mark of 14.93°C from 2024. To date, 329/366 (89.9%) of daily records have been set or tied in 2023, 2024, and 2025. The oldest surviving records were set on December 9-10, 2015. The ERA-5 dataset goes back to 1940.
  18. I'll be curious to see how long some of these Jamaica webcams last.
  19. It’s been quite the autumn for frosts that’s for sure….I like it.
  20. Light frost in Ellicott City just north of 70
  21. Reminds me of Michael in 2018. But stronger. Interestingly it’s moving in the same direction NNE…
  22. 28.8 this morning - first 20s of the season. Let's go!
