Augdewst 2026: Summer's Last Stand
CoastalWx replied to Prismshine Productions's topic in New England
Might get a S coast Seabreeze type deal Friday? Big CAPE on south coast with dewpoint pooling. However it might be capped….but I could see something pop. S/W moves through late Friday night with maybe more shwrs and storms. -
Maybe I’ve heard it before, couldn’t figure out the lyrics.

Can @stormtracker @admin reinstate @warywarren? He's Jew hunting me at another forum. He's @A-L-E-K close friend. So an antisemite.

Was surprised to see .62” in my gauge this morning.

Much much needed and welcome rain in Fallston starting pre-dawn and so far this AM. The fields at the farm really needed this kind of extended rain.

Usual spots W of the CRV have potential.

Floyd rainfall. Was in southeast Morris County at the time and had just over 10" from mid morning to late afternoon. It was a non stop deluge. River and road flooding was beyond description for several days. Ida in 2021 was a close second and actually the intensity was greater (in terms of hourly rainfall rates) than Floyd. Ida did her damage quicker. Floyd was more prolonged and continues torrential rainfall and overall totals were higher with Floyd where I was living at the time.

This! Getting a moderate shower with barely any evidence of it on radar. That's how you know the low-levels are juiced.
-
most of the rain over the last week or so has missed me but .70" fell in about 25 minutes this morning.

For those who enjoy perspiring

Ok guys it’s time for someone to post “long range indices forecasting a big cool down starting August xx”. It’s part of my late summer / fall ritual and this is my go to forum. Thanks in advance.

I have always believed that if not for Hurricane Floyd, we would have likely had a near 5-year continuous drought. The 2002 drought, of course, ended with the severe snowy winter of 2002-03.
