eversource just texted me saying fallen trees and live wires in the vicinity of my house, wife said lots of sirens etc...its 85-90 and pleasant here (almost daily)in Soflo, I'd prefer home tbh... really don't know how people can live here year round, maybe when I'm a couple decades older I'd enjoy it, I like the change of seasons.

Funny our lights almost always stay on. But 1AM my wife and I were having a fun discussion and poof-no lights. They came back on in 3-4 minutes and I’m thinking the Eversource person was posting ITT and accidentally hit the hot key to kill the power and had to bring it back before it got out of hand…

Not in here Westchester- main road thru my town is closed north and southbound. On a cruise back into Port of NY in Brooklyn. Due in tomorrow at 0830. Left Halifax NS last night. Port is currently closed. Amtrak-Acela has cancelled everything north of NYC. Got a refund on tickets. Will rent a car one way to drive home whenever we get off of ship. In open water south of Cape Cod. Occasional gale winds and currently 4m seas. Could see 5-6m later today. I was 47, married 21 years with my oldest daughter approaching 20. I still had, unbeknownst to me at that time, that I’d be in government employ for another 24 years. The storm that shall not be named was a full tropical system - a hurricane - before it got up to this latitude and transitioned. It basically lead to some changes in how a hybrid storm would be handled in the future. This was never a home-grown fully tropical system however FAA is indicating delays with a possible stop on the table - https://nasstatus.faa.gov/

Hasn't been overly windy, but there are a surprising number of roads blocked by fallen trees in my hood. Maybe all the rain this summer weakened them.
