this forum has taught me that it is almost always possible to find "guidance" that supports the forecast one prefers this forum has also taught me who is posting "forecasts" based on personal bias, and who is posting guidance as they try to figure out the ever-changing forecast 64/64 and rain -
Following its wettest summer on record, Bridgeport has now picked up 2.43" (61.7 mm) of rain today. That breaks the daily record of 2.12" (53.8 mm) from 1971. Heavy rain continues to fall.
-
Yeah, this is the heaviest downpour since the summer with plenty of street and parking lot flooding in my area. Southern CT has really been the focus of the heaviest rains. The complete opposite of last summer when we had record low rainfall.

Doesnt look like the Warm front has made it more than 10 miles from the coast? -
Finally got the rain we’d been looking for. Picked up 1.30” overnight which brings event total to 1.57” and MTD to 1.59”
-
Slightly damp this morning. No measurable rain. Came down Furnace Mountain after doing some critter care. Driving on the side of the mountain into the mist listening to U137 amongst the tall trees and ferns.
-
So jealous of that big rain shield over SNE. I would have loved an all-day rain while watching football

Sure gonna be nice to have the DPs crash during the day tomorrow.

Occasional Thoughts on Climate Change
LibertyBell replied to donsutherland1's topic in Climate Change
Those records from early July 1911 are absolutely wild. 98, 99 and 103 on three consecutive days and no other day from that location's entire history above 95! On the same day it hit 103 there it also hit 103 at Newark and the all time record high of 104 at Boston and it was 101 all the way into the Green and White mountains I think they're at a higher elevation than Mt Pocono? That was some heat dome Chris! -
Yea it looks like the worst of it is now to your east.

Ah ok, makes sense and seems reasonable. I thought you were implying that was going to Stein/miss you and stay on S.Coast. My bad. Had 0.37” up here last night and almost an inch a few days ago. Otherwise we’ve been real dry the past 4-6 weeks or so but I do enjoy it spending so much time outdoors. -
About 4 inches here so far but it's starting to lighten up thankfully
-
Ct. coast looks to be the bullseye so far, not to much here, .27 of an inch.
-
.32 so far here in southern Brooklyn

Velocity is cool. Can see WF and all that convergence heading towards PVD and adjacent SE MA. -
Yeah, that '14-'15. Went from epic to middling the next year.
-
Heavy rain continues in this part of Morris.
