  2. Checks latest rain total projections. Turns on sprinkler. This rain went poof!
  3. That’s true. Although I still argue South of pike and east of CT river prefer Miller Bs.
  4. Why did men in suits spin off from COC? Unless you just enjoy sharp dressed men?
  5. Boston Northwest definitely can be just north of great Miller As. ORH Pike south and east ala Dec 21 09 Jan 96 were pure blizzards A style

  7. Well said, JS. It reminds of me what a friend told me while, coincidentally, we were on a fishing boat. He said, ‘my children , to me, are priceless ….. but I wouldn't give a plug nickel for another one’. I’m sure you and your love will have many special alone times in your future. As always …..
  8. Men in suits every where taking portrait pictures with unlimited visibility background for next years COC calendar. Perfect day
  9. Right...you want the max rate of mid level keeping to coincide with their passage just beneath your latitude....tougher to pull off with with respect to track, and timing of the evolution of the cyclone's life cycle in Miller A.
  10. Yeah I just read about that. How awful
  11. Yep and they are usually developing vs maturing and occluding.
  12. If you want a great outcome, the mid level lows are below us in Miller, B, too.
  13. I guess I just view Miller As with the 850-500 lows still below us, it’s just that the origin of Miller As is from the Gulf.
  14. IMO, "hybrid" is Miller B. SWFE on roids has to be Miller A designation......the influx of moisture is from the south without any real northern energy. PD II was kind of like that, though it had a bit more of a surface reflection.
  15. The southern stream is still dead. It should wake up for real in the next month or 2
  16. Was last Jan 2026 miller A? Kind of reminded me of a SWFE on roids that hung around. also Feb 2026 id argue miller hybrid? I honestly don’t recall how that developed.
  17. So, a nice little parenting story about this that some of you will appreciate. We took our boat out for the final time of the season yesterday and planned on cleaning it real good and basically get it ready for the winter. We had just gotten out there and are sitting in the middle of the river with the sun shining, pretty much have the river to ourselves. Wife and I had an old bottle of champagne we decided to bring along and no sooner than we pop the bottle and take our first sip do we get a call from our daughter’s preschool saying she has a fever and we have to come get her. Never freaking fails. All for some low grade fever and of course she is perfectly fine this morning. Kids, gotta love ‘em!
  18. Today
  19. Now look at that list and tell the ones that would most like to relive and I bet they are Miller B.
  20. Conisder this list: According to National Weather Service data compiled by the Boston Globe and Boston.com, here are the top ten largest recorded snowstorms in Boston history: February 17–18, 2003 – 27.6 inches: MILLER A (But I have always been VERY skeptical of that total) February 6–7, 1978 (Blizzard of '78) – 27.1 inches: MILLER B February 24–26, 1969 – 26.3 inches: MILLER B January 22–24, 2005 – 25.4 inches: MILLER B February 8–9, 2013 – 25.4 inches: MILLER B March 31–April 1, 1997 (April Fool's Day storm) – 25.3 inches: MILLER B January 26–28, 2015 – 24.9 inches: MILLER B January 25–26, 2026 (Winter Storm Fern) – 23.2 inches: MILLER A January 20–22, 1978 – 23.1 inches: MILLER A February 8–11, 1994 – 21.7 inches [1, 2, 3, 4] (OES ENHANCED) I count 3 of the top ten that are clear Miller A events.
