We only made it to 3F this morning. Disappointing, it looks like the lake effect clouds hung around too long. Probably could have made it to at least -5F. We average about 8 days below zero days every winter, but we have yet to have one this year. All time record low is -31 (1/5/1904) and all time low high is -5 (1/20/1994).

Erie's about to call it quits.

Pretty much need a NW to NNW flow to get anything here. Buffalo might get away with a SW flow, but by the time it happens, it will be too late.

You've done good, Lake Erie.'Til April...

Hopefully we have a nice thick ice by the time the outdoor hockey tournament starts!

00Z NAM looking better at least an advisory criteria if not our first warning criteria snow here in WNY. QPF looks to be around. 5" or so and with temps in the teens and low 20s 15:1 ratios or better would be common. This would yeild a solid 6-8 inches. I know its still 3 days away but the trends are certainley there.

I noticed that too.

I do like the threads for each storm - makes it easier to follow.

sleet here in Queensbury at the moment, roads are a mess.

After a slow start to winter here in eastern NYS the past few weeks have certainly been entertaining... even without a 12"+ storm yet.

We'll see what the end of the week brings:)
