You know, if Lamar doesn't resign with the Ravens that's fine. It might be time to tear it down to the studs and rebuild.

I am starting to lean in that direction. He is more injury prone as he gets older, and this team obv lacks talent, and it cant be fixed overnight. If they commit to him long term, this team will probably continue to be 'in the mix', but not good enough. EDC is no Ozzie Newsome. Sashi Brown also seems sus.

If you commit to Lamar you can fix the issues around him in a year...two at the most. Heck, this defense is two pieces and months of therapy away from being good enough. The mental problem is bigger than the talent issue.

2) You don't jettison your franchise QB at 30 and just magically find another one. Even if he misses 3 games a year, you still have a better chance of getting a ring with him than without him. If he can throw whatever mobility he maintains will be a plus but not absolutely necessary.

Why are folks acting like he's not under contract next year? Lol

Talking about beyond that dude. This team has a lot that needs fixing, and the contract he will demand will limit the ability to do that. Do you really want to see the likes of Marlon Humphrey as a starter for another year or 2? He is total shit now. How about the OL? Its a fucking mess. Lamar will continue to get hurt and miss games.

No. He and Roquan gotta go end of this year be it trade or free agency. OL can be fixed too; Jurgens, Vega, Rosengarten could be a pretty good start. Another LT (if Stanley's play is declining) and LG would have to be signed. Lamar gets extended...that will at least give more room to work for the next 2 years.

These are not blow it up start over changes--soft rebuild/retool like this could improve things next season.

Maryland is the worst place for professional sports. All of these teams need to be ashamed of themselves. What did we do to deserve this? Smh I mean no joy to be found in any of them for 3 years. All have leadership problems or are trying to recover from leadership problems.

I mean at some point it has to turn around I mean dang...historically Baltimore has always had at least one good team. But now every team in the state has been mediocre or plain awful.

The offense looks healthy: Zay Flowers is breaking out as one of the best WR's in the league. Lamar is still MVP material if he would run more. Henry averages 1 more ypc at the end of the season than beginning. I can't see them rebuilding when they have that. Lamar would go to a team like Miami and likely win a super bowl there lol. The O-line isn't as bad as everyone says I don't think, I haven't slowed the tape down and watched each one individually but it did seem like Lamar had time this season. The problem is Huntley can't throw beyond 5yds so they stack the line.

3 years ago the Orioles and Ravens were both #1 seed.

Maybe you're referring to the Ravens going 8-9 last year and the Orioles finishing 4 games under .500? That's not that bad dude lol. The Baltimore market for attendance, baseball and football, is a little below average over the long run.

Everyone wants their team to win 75% of games, but the difference from city-to-city is so small that you can't really expect that unless you are LA or NY.

I'm saying the 3 years since 2023. It has been all downhill from there. Both 2023 teams were false peaks--

Orioles 24 season had a winning record but sucked the second half and embarrassingly mentally feckless in the Wild Card.

Ravens 24 season had blown leads and obviously the Andrews drop in the playoffs

Orioles 25' season: Awful. Ravens 25' season: Awful

Orioles 26 season: New manager, inherited mentally weak mentality, failed to capitalize on momentum each time, .500 team, missed playoffs.

Ravens 26 season: New HC, inherited bad mentality--no dawg in 'em Looks to be a .500 season missing the playoffs.

One embarrassment after another and nobody has known how to win. Now in both cases...both new manager and new HC could very well do better in 2027...but time will tell. 2027 is gonna be a defining year for Baltimore sports: Either we'll finally be released from this prison of mediocrity, or we'll be suffering for more years to come.

Thank you, I try to share what I learn in my courses with the forum to pass it forward. Also, it's nice that you're learning all that stuff. If you ever have questions about the global climate response piece I can help you with that (carbon cycle wise I've lost most of that knowledge post AP environmental science in Junior year). While learning the concepts might not (but hopefully does) feel interesting they lay the groundwork for understanding the atmosphere as a dynamic system. I don't know what you plan to major in (you have a lot of years to figure that out, if you want to go to college that is) but if it's related to atmospheric science/environmental science you will thank yourself for paying attention now.

I understand your feeling on this but I truly believe that most everyone in this subforum is capable of understanding the math behind our climate; after all, it's a mix of algebra and the most basics of calculus alongside understanding some concepts (those being the solar constant, albedo effect, and greenhouse gas effect).

However, some very influential people have a strong vested interest in creating a reality where that equation is wrong. I do not blame the people for believing in that reality - no one wants to be wrong after all. That said, if there is one thing that my social psychology class has taught me it is that attitude change requires the ability to admit you're wrong which is a very difficult thing for people to do. The people who don't believe in climate change aren't stupid, they aren't evil, and they aren't backwards. They are humans. Yes, humans who are wrong on the issue, and yes humans who actions cause real harm, but you aren't ever going to change their minds by pretending they are somehow below you. If you truly care about changing other peoples minds then you need to put aside malice and extend empathy towards them with how you explain the concept. Ultimately, we are all extremely susceptible creatures to outside influences and the only way we can really understand one another is through seeing people as people and not a walking conglomeration of ideas.

If you are one of the posters who disagree with me on climate change I want to say two things directly to you. 1. Thank you for reading this far. 2. Think about who benefits from a world where climate change doesn't exist. Think about how much political power and influence those groups have to loose if climate action occurs. Think about if those groups truly have your best intentions at heart of if they are trying to use you as a voting block to hold onto their power. Just think about it for a minute or two the next time year hear/read an anti-climate change ad or paper - and think about where the money for that ad came from.

If you can't tell this moral goes beyond climate change for me.

I appreciate your point and 10 or 20 years ago I would have agreed and I've even written things very similar.  I have a sociology degree so I can even confirm everything you say is clinically correct.  However, I have become jaded, and my definition of stupid now includes people who are unable to get their heads out of their own arse and realize when they are being manipulated.  And yes I realize that definition of stupid means about 50% of the human population is stupid.

I grew up in a conservative Christian family.  I was forced to attend Sunday school, until they asked me to stop because I would point out God was a terrorist monster for killing all the Egyptian first born children over a political agenda when he could have just snapped his fingers and got what he wanted.  Apparently that wasn't the message they wanted me to get from the passover lesson.

But my point is I was subjected to the same attempts at programming and propaganda that every other conservative was.  And I will admit it took me a while to overcome it.  When I was 15 I did something horrible.  A boy who was clearly gay tried to be my friend and I avoided him because of how the other students were teasing me over being nice to him.  I was a coward.  I am ashamed that I was too weak at that age to tell the rest of them to go F themselves for how they were treating that boy.  But I eventually did grow up, realized what utter BS conservatives were selling, and overcame the programming.  So I have absolutely no sympathy for the people who choose to remain in that place mentally.

Lastly for the record I am no longer trying to change anyone's mind.  I spend 20 years doing that and it's useless.  I am living my life and telling those people what I think of them, and they can go F themselves.  I no longer care enough to try to save them from themselves.  They can keep voting for policies that F them over for all I care.  F around and find out!  I do feel bad for the good people who get hurt by them but I've realized I can only do what I can do on an individual personal level.  I donate my time and money to organizations that make a difference.  I make sure day to day to be kind and generous to people.  I coach.  I teach.  I make sure my children will NEVER by like those people.  But unfortunately I think that no matter what there are too many stupid people who will always be easy to manipulate by powerful people with nefarious motives and that struggle is inevitable .

The Vikings are doing their part to make sure their fans get the most gut wrenching utterly emotionally devastating eviscerating experience possible by being as good as they can now to inspire hope only to have it crushed later in some kind of epic dumpster fire way.

They did this in 2017 when they went 13-3 and marched right down the field to take a 7-0 lead in the championship game vs a team with a backup QB only to completely stop playing at that point and get demolished the rest of the game.

The most Vikings thing ever would be if they are winning the super bowl and just need to kneel the ball to run out the clock and they fumble the snap and the other team returns it for the winning TD with no time left on the clock!

Sports can be funny sometimes but at this point as a Minnesota fan you have the Vikings at 6-0 and in first place, the Timberwolves at 3-0 and in first place the Wild are in first place and even the Gophers football team is beating ranked teams and 5-2 overall. Setting up to be a craptacular collapseapalooza postseason. Not to mention the snowless winter and 80 degree christmas coming.

Probably best for Lamar and the team to part ways once his contract is up. Ravens need a major overhaul and if Lamar wants to win more than a first round playoff game its likely not happening here. DeCosta isnt fooling anyone anymore. He built this shitty fucking defense of non-aggressive, non-playmakers.
