GaWx
1. Based on Corcorahs and radar yesterday, I roughly estimate 0.1” fell at my home yesterday (8/27) thus bringing my location at 7.35” mtd through 8/27. 2. More rain has fallen and is still falling there today. I’ll have to roughly estimate later how much for 8/28. As of now the total for today I’m guessing 0.5” at the very least. Edit: my rough estimate for 8/28 at my home is 0.5” based largely on local TV radar estimates. That puts me at ~7.85” MTD.
gtg947h
Third day in a row of rain all around us and plenty of thunder but not a drop at the house. At least I don't have to mow this weekend...
eyewall
As you probably guessed I was certainly going to try and view the lunar eclipse two nights ago. The forecast looked bleak but I tracked satellite trends and made my west to an area just north and west of Siler City, NC (near Liberty, NC). I was able to break out of the clouds to mostly clear skies and got this at the peak: 3

cbmclean
There are finally cells firing in my area but at this time none seem good candidates to hit me. It's maddening! I'm at 0.85" for the month.

Broadly speaking the southern half of the state did OK. The northern half, outside of the mountains had a very bad month, especially the NE quadrant. Very frustrating as we had made huge progress from D2/D3 all the way back to D0 or D1 but now we're right back in the hole. What makes it even more frustrating is that it's not like a massive ridge baking out the Southeast; there's been plenty of moisture around and several episodes of good lift, stalled fronts etc. For some reason cells had a hard time popping and those that did seemed to have a short lifespan.
