I think the GFS needs to be retired. Inexcusable to be this out of step only 3 days out

Another person who is bashing the gfs . Can we see at 0z ? It has beaten the euro many times. Having the gfs ai west is nice.  Icon and rgem also shifted west.

Yep since things have trended a bit let’s see what 00z shows. We do need bigger steps from the other models now.

18z GFS AI AIGFS Total QPF

The gfs core platform has either

- been hacked by members of the weather community
- its seeing s something no other suite sees for such an amplified phase so close  to the coast (other then yesterdays GGEM, UKMET) that other dont see ala 2010
- greatest failure inside 96 hours of recent memory

And the much to be hyped on social media and other outlets  18z GFS total QPF 2/22 - 2/23-24

And the cherry on top might be the AIGFS trend in precip/snow (it's cold enough).  And even though I know there's not a lot of love for the AIGFS, the fact that it's arriving at a pretty good snowfall for 95 to the coast, via a totally different model algorithm (AI vs. physics) is encouraging, meaning the GFS solution can't just be some weird data initialization or model physics error.  I guess we have to keep tracking, lol.
