is the High Pressure in the NE not a lot more south than models are showing??

Someone with more talent can correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe a high pressure north east of us is going to send its air down the east side of the apps. So I don’t think it does it any good even if it was closer to us

Adding a little more to this, it might even hurt us with aiding in downsloping off the mountains. Obviously the wind direction wouldn’t be ideal for downsloping, but it would still be coming somewhat from the east.

Yeah, in this situation the HP is already sliding east of the Apps and funneling cold air down the Piedmont

The forecast on Tuesday for today and tomorrow had around 14-22 of snow inches total. I should have screenshot it. Probably won't see that again for awhile lol. I knew that total was too good to be true. That's the game we play in this part of the world.

I can't remember who posted this the other day but was so out of this world I had to save it lol.

I’m not saying this to be like those fools on Facebook but everything about this forecast has been wrong one way or another. I worry that with this system not phasing correctly we won’t see that warm nose ejecting itself to raise surface temperatures tonight/tomorrow.

The good old days of Monday-Tuesday haha. I remember looking at that and thinking "wow that's a sharp gradient just south of TN, we could get nothing if this tracks just a bit north" and then...

Yeah if we had a faster solution and kept that ULL to the NE you wouldn't be seeing this stout inverted trough with a CAD

Gonna be interesting to see which high res mod is closest to what happens. This is the NAM 3K and the VF3, I picked those because they are the closest to my air temperature right now. I threw the HRRR out because it has me with rain and 33 degrees right now. I’m at 27.7 with mod snow. The main reason why I’m curious with these two high res mods is because both of them are pretty close with total precipitation, however the FV3 has me with a little over 3 inches of snow, no sleet and just a little freezing rain by Monday morning. The 3K gives me less than a half inch of snow, half of an inch of sleet and over 1 inch of total QPF of freezing rain. Here’s some screenshots.
