Was too busy thumbing through the synoptic analogs and missed it.  I'm liking the feb-18 1979 storm.

That storm had, if not, very close to 4 inch an hour rates down in good ole Hollywood Maryland for several hours overnight. neighbors house had an 8 foot drift almost  touching their gutter The state didn’t plow our road for four days then  they finally did they had the national guard behind them.

So wait, has no one mentioned the wright weather boards yet? I joined those the 2002-2003 winter leading up to PD2.  Maybe its an omen for this winter? Fun times.

What about alt.NEweather.?

What is Eric Webb saying about this storm?

ETA I love how we have an underground railroad of weather rumors coming in from other forums.  New forum low point.

Last I saw he was being a little shy about making any real claims so far this time. He basically just said it’s a very fragile setup with lots of tiny moving parts that can alter the situation drastically.

Understandable that he wouldn’t want to jump on any one solution after his absolute disaster last week.

Funny story about that storm...

I obviously don't remember because I was 3 years old. but my parents and I had just moved here from South Africa - and they were NOT ready for winter weather. There were drifts against the door and my dad had to dig them out with a baking sheet, lol. They were very much like "WTH have we gotten ourselves into?!"

Baahaha, at least he was resourceful.  I don't think I would've thought to look through my kitchen for snow tools.
