Had about a 15 min burst of heavy snow that put down a quick half inch.  Back to pixies now.

Pretty cool how there's literally no surface reflection with this clipper. All the snow is driven by mid-upper level jet dynamics and frontogenesis.

Yeah.  Precip is sliding southeast.  Was able to catch a little bubble of heavy snow as it rode southeast from Cedar Rapids.  We're in 1.5-2 mile type vis with pixies now.  

Very strange how we rode the extreme northern edge with both clippers.  Usually back to back clippers vary more in their tracks.

Im sorry man. I know how that feels. All too well. Pretty much all last winter got missed. Peoria has already surpassed all of last winter's snow. Looks like after a torch for a bit maybe some interesting stuff around Xmas. I was surprised myself these followed basically the same track or close to.

Started here. Not real efficient yet. Was surprised at WSW but more than likely for the wind and the frigid cold coming in. They don't want people on the roads because they are already crap lol.

Really coming down here now, starting to accumulate on grass/vegetation, not much on the roads yet though. Temp is just below 32f, so hopefully it starts dropping soon and we see some higher ratio stuff move in

It's all good, we've had a phenomenal season already.  Gonna take a 2-3 week break from snow, but hopefully we can resume the snowy pattern after the New year.

Rip city here. Everything has gone to sh*t. Looks like we got lucky and was far enough “south” to get into some good banding. Probably won’t last long, but it’s nice to have received…

Best snow of the year so far. Awesome banding, dry fluffy snow, and big fat flakes in these heavier bands. Easily seen 1in+ hr rates at times. A true snow globe outside. Sad it's going to torch this week and melt it all.

Nearing an inch, probably a few more tenths left in the tank. Got what I wanted. Pack is fresh and it's picturesque winter out there. Congrats to all who are cashing in on the heavier totals!

The HRRR had dropped us all the way down to <1", but we actually got a bit of heavy snow on the northern edge this morning and I picked up a nice, fluffy 2 inches.  I'll take it.

There is a 6" report just sw of Iowa City.  That area, just one county to my sw, has received 8-10 inches from the two clippers.

Man if this system was moving slower this would of been a big one. Have picked up quite a bit of snow quickly.

DAB from the system this afternoon. We’re already seeing some streamers come off the lake. That should get better organized tonight. Accumulations should stay in check at around 3”. IWX opted not to go with a WWA, despite GRR doing so with the same accumulation expected. GRR says to snow+v cold=travel troubles. I have to agree.

Got almost 2" here in Zanesville. Local is calling for 4-7" total accumulation.

Currently in LA but my son sent me this from Kankakee earlier
