My 8.8” of snow/sleet melted down to 1.58” liquid. To get that amount of qpf while sitting in the low teens the whole time and only come away with less than 9” is something else. Man what could have been down this way. Still happy to have a nice solid pack.

Awesome both these guys deserve it. Snownuts is the only member that's always been respectful and kind to me. And  training is the only person here that if I could take back some of the nasty things that i've said in the past I would. Congratulations fellas.

Thanks for the kind words. We’re all in this for similar reasons and I’m glad you enjoy what I share. Last week was great and looks like we keep tracking this week also. Looks like that new gear might be gettin a workout next weekend. Enjoy

Not so fast my friends…. Check again… they revised it down to a more realistic 12.5 last night at MDT…

I picked 12.3…so I think that crown belongs to me!

it’s just beautiful out. Been outside pretty much last 2 days  helping neighbors n playin with grandpup. My son plowed for 22.5 hrs straight. Started at 430 yesterday morning. Got to our house at 3:00 this mirning(DIL, grandson and grandpup weathered the storm here) 

1hr ride on sleds to end the day today sunset was a beaut in this awesome winter landscape.

Side note, when CTP revised it down to 12.5 for the event, they didn’t revise the month & year to date snow properly. 
Today with the 5 pm summary, the month to date & seasonal snow to date are now all correct.

This is MDT’s first season officially over 20 inches since 2021.

We are now only 10 inches below climo for the season with 2 months still to go to score.

Very beautiful outside, reminds me of my childhood, being pulled in a sled to the local grocery store in 93 and again 96. Glad my two kids can finally enjoy some true winter weather. Kinda sad I hardly get to enjoy it in the moment with them, but I have inspired one hell of a reliable snow shoveler in my teenager. Came home last night after 12 hours of plowing to a completely clear property, a small one, mind you. I brought the plow home, anticipating having to spend 30 minutes to an hour clearing a spot. Instead, all was cleared, salted and wet. Today everything is drying and he is asking to ride along for the next storm. My answer: I need someone in the skid steer lol. Tomorrow marks day two of cleanup/prep for what could be a doozy this weekend. Bring it on home folks!

Kudos to your son for the long shift. Been there, done that. I had just gotten out of the Army prior to the 2016 blizzard. First time every doing snow. Last thing they told me was keep it clear. 3 days later I was asked when the last time I had gone home was. The look on the guys face when I told him, “ about 3 days ago” , was one you might expect to get if you had a unicorn horn sprouted from your forehead region. Long story short, I told him I do what I am told until told otherwise and explained my service background. He was bewildered, yet in awe. Nice paycheck, though lol. About that 20-22 hour mark, you start to question yourself and how got to where you are. Next thing you know, you wake up and have to move more snow! Love it! Those days are over for me. Did 12 Sunday , 8 today and hopefully I can wrap up my cleanup by lunch tomorrow. If I don’t get the loader stuck again haha. I did manage to get out by sheer luck. I was about 2 minutes from grabbing my office manager and a tow strap. Experience hehe

Drove from Key West clear up to Jacksonville today. Left at 5am and it was 76/72. Here in Duvall it's currently 40/19. 53 drop in dewpoint.

Thanks man! I had a new guy with me Sunday. Was difficult to get any pictures or even get away for coffee. Ultimately, I just said, “ You stay here. I will bring you snow. Put it over there”. And tomorrow is day two of cleaning up. All that said, I couldn’t have gotten better results being solo. And I kinda like teaching the up and coming folks. He’s a good listener, when the earbuds aren’t in, takes criticism well, and owns up to his mistakes. He damaged some stuff, nothing major, all can be fixed in house. On the plus side, I found a hydraulic leak on my truck plow today that has been leaking some time undetected. Reservoir holds 2 quarts. I added 40 oz. Not lol gotta flip or replace a cutting edge on our push box, add some snow stakes since my regular plow buddy is still out due to surgeries and refuel, re grease and re fit for what should and hopefully be a much deserved banger for our area. Bring back summer school!!

With yesterday's storm we are now at 34.1" of snow for the season. This is 9th most snow we have received through the end of January. We have continuous and consistently reported snow records for the below 3 stations since 1888. Average seasonal snowfall through the end of January is 16.4". The remaining average snowfall for February through April is an additional 19.3". The average seasonal snowfall is 35.7". Below are the top 10 years along with the final snow totals for the season.

At least you weren’t my parents. Flight cancels from San Juan due to weather. Found a flight to orlando and then philly. Canceled. Luggage lost somewhere in transit. Tank tops, shorts, flip flops. Finally got a flight to Dullis and rented a car to drive back. They did stop at the first Wally World for warmer clothes. 
 

They also had my brother house/dog sit with empty fuel cans and a snowblower about half a quart low on oil. Basically empty lol. Big brother to the rescue!  I dragged him out to the garage by his nose ring and made him start it for the first time. No way I was taking that heat!

I’ve had two friends today had windshields shattered/spiderwebbed by ice flying off tractor-trailers today. Both are thankfully okay  

One on 83 by Lewisbery and the other on 581 at Creekview.
