Now you are really living the ‘80s ….last winter was a small preview since it wasn’t a torch. But so far this year we’ve got well below normal temps and you get to watch the mid-Atlantic snow and then we rain on the next system and then rinse/repeat. That’s almost exactly how it went. Wasn’t that bad of a decade roughly Philly-southward.

Thank you. This was it to a T.

We’re five seasons into the 1980’s. Where have you been?

Not even close bro.  But This is season is it. The last 3 have been gearing up for this.  Last year was closer, but Now we have it.   When everybody around you snows, but you don’t in SNE…that’s the 80’s.   Ahhh….visions of my teens growing up in CT.

We have been spoiled. Getting a 12-18" blizzard every year becomes expected rather than the rare event it is. The 2010s were truly amazing. I'd say better than the 2000s.

The late 90s were horrendous. IMO this is the worst stretch since 96-97 through 99-00.

Wasn’t 95-96 one of CT’s record breaking winters?

For SURE! Ironically we’re back to where we used to be. It’s all a cycle.

Even the 80s were better here. Once in a blue moon something happened.

Dude, I went 4 years without a double digit event in ORH.....think about that for a second and take into account the climo and location.

Ya…80’s were the worst. This has a ways to go, so the ones ready to hang yourselves, get ready for more punishment.

He’s in a daze…we have to cut him a break lol. Guy’s punch drunk.

He's been in probably the worst spot in the entire region since Feb 2022. So I get it....at least the rest of us had at least a few decent events, but his area down toward Tblizz has been really bad.

ORH might have been the worst spot relative to climo from 1988-1992.

Yeah, looks okay there, but like I said, large majority of the area, not great.

Glad SW CT can score on another event

Yo, I got a half an inch so you’re not missing much. I will gladly trade places with you and score on all those 18+ storms the way you have in your existence.

It was so bad.  And on the rare occasion we did get something, it would be on a Saturday or Sunday morning, precluding a day off from school.  I don't know how we survived that decade.

I think from 83-87 we had maybe one storm over 6", just going off memory but that was Waterbury not Winsted, and then I don't remember much else big until 95/96.

Yeah, I’d say from the scooter to me corridor has been absolutely screwed for 4 years now. I don’t think I’ve had a warning event since the Jan 22 blizzard, coming up on 4 years now
