8 new 9 24 hrs nice recovery on the slopes

9" measured on elevated surfaces within 24 hours is a solid snowfall (1-1.5" before the flip).  Closing in on a half inch per hour average over an entire calendar day.  That's a good shot of snow for the northern Greens as the trough moves through.

Looks like amounts really dropped off south of I-89. Judging from webcams, probably 1-2 windblown inches at MRG/Sugarbush

Has to be great for the local economy up here to get off to such a stellar start

.

Stowe didn’t open till 12/3 last year, so absolutely.  Pretty busy this weekend!

And yeah, I undersold this one too lol.  Models weren’t really exciting south of Jay but I was surprised it got as far south as Mansfield.

Crazy sharp drop off south of here though.

Those snow totals through Saturday morning certainly appeared to fall off south of Stowe. Checking Bolton’s snow report, they weren’t reporting any new snow, so I wasn’t planning on making any turns, but my younger son and his friend were looking to get out for some runs with me and my wife, so we ended up heading out for a morning session.

It turns out that the resort did pick up at least a couple of inches of snow based on what we saw, but the accumulations varied a lot with the wind and perhaps their standard measurement spots didn’t hold onto any of the snow to a degree that they felt confident enough to report it. The resort is working on beefing up the manmade base on their main Bear Run beginner route on the lower mountain, so there was no beginner terrain in play yesterday, and I think that helped to keep the number of visitors lower than they might have been. Conditions on their main Sherman’s Pass/Beech Seal route were decent, with some manmade snow of course, but some natural mixed in and a nice amount of loose snow that gave you something to carve on. The relatively low skier traffic kept the morning groomed surfaces lasting longer than they typically might, but by late morning the skier traffic was starting to pick up, and you could tell that the surfaces were getting a little firmer.

Bolton Valley has been putting up some impromptu mini terrain parks near the base these past couple of weekends with just a feature or two, and it seems like folks are having a lot of fun with that. They’re short enough that you can literally hike back up in 20 seconds and hit the features again. My son had fun with the one they have set up near the Mighty Mite and made a couple runs down the rails on our way out.

Had mostly light SN, 1.1" and 0.07" LE, followed by 4 hours of light RA.  Total precip of 0.12" was 3rd from lowest of 65 cocorahs reports when I looked at 9:30.

November numbers
Avg max:  39.7   -2.6   Highest:  51, 8th
Avg min:   25.6   +0.9  Lowest:  14, 20th
Mean:       32.7   -0.8

Precip:  2.35"   -1.80"   Wettest:  0.44", 10th

Snow:   3.7"    -1.2"   Greatest: 2.4", 16th

November 2025 was characterized by a lack of extremes (unless the modest 0.55" for wettest day was 'extreme').  The max/min spread of 37° is second least (33° in 1998, 50/17) and daily departures got no greater than 7.2° AN or 7.3° BN and only 7 days had 5° AN/BN.  (Average for 28 November greatest departures are 14° AN and 13° BN.)
