Met1985
Went out and measured multiple spots. Im going to say 12.5 inches for a storm total. Still snowing but the suns trying to come out. What a freaking amazing storm. We all needed this. 7
Maggie Valley Steve
I'm going to attempt to clear the driveway enough to get one vehicle out today. It looks like the Town of Maggie Valley plowed the road leading up to the house early this morning. Those little blessings of being the last house within the Town limits I suppose. So it looks like a minor event may be possible Tuesday night into Wednesday. We'll see about that potential the next 24 to 48 hours. I've heard rumors that NCDOT is running out of salt. I hope it just a rumor locally for our Mountain Region!

I'm not sure.

I agree with your A+ rating. The guidance overall handled it rather well with sniffing it out which is really important for seeing the possibilities a week out! I do not see any real relaxation of the pattern well into February. We are paying for the warm Christmas.

About 7 inches total. Not an all timer. But....... I still agree with the A+ ! I love the super cold snowstorms. It was a beautiful snow. It snowed all day long . It hasn't immediately melted, and probably won't for a while. Plus, at least here, there has not been a lot of snow since January 2022. So, an A+ is the only grade that makes sense.
strongwxnc
I gave the last one a B (I think) this was is a solid A. All powder with 12 hours of snow. Low vis for about 5 hours yesterday. Getting to use my big pasture hill today for sledding might turn it into an A+. Cheers

SnowDawg
-0.5 this morning is definitely one of the coldest mornings I've seen in long time down here. I think even back in 2014 we only got to the low single digits.
