Just made it to our cabin! Little bit of snow up here from earlier this week! We have a great view of do downtown Gatlinburg and are walking distance to over Gatlinburg! Just cracked a Michelob ultra after a long ride with our two and four year old! Cheers!

NAM 3K looking good tonight.  Seems like the favorable areas along the border will start snowing tomorrow anywhere from 2 to 4 tomorrow and then the other counties will start 7 to 9 tomorrow night and according to the NAM 3k their will be a heavy band of snow coming through around 5 or 6 in the morning then continue to snow through the day.

I use to love snow as a kid. Would watch Mr Bill early mornings to see if school was closed. Riding home from school hearing on the radio Winter Storm warning now in effect.

Times have changed. I'm now a carer for my mother. We don't have a heat backup nor a way to charge her ventilator battery. Wishing for powder and power.

Definitely going to be a dry snow but you may have to worry about the wind Saturday afternoon.

About time to start watching the radar. Good luck everyone! Here is my final call map. Hoping we see someone jackpot with 12”.4a71fea6dcaefa2e2a02514fc52b638b.jpg

If you had to extend this over Catawba County, would you be 4-8 there too?

NWS forecast was upped for our area this morning outside of Gatlinburg. They are now saying heavy snow tonight and tomorrow with 3-7 tonight and 3-7 tomorrow!!

Probably will be my biggest Gatlinburg chase as they normally are 3-6 total. Christmas 2010 was probably the biggest for me up here. Lake Toxaway in January of 2022 may never be topped.

Wishing you the best of luck holding onto the power.  I know I am still suffering a bit of PTSD from Helene; and to borrow a term from the movie Spinal Tap; it seems we keep having weather events with something turned up to 11; of course Helene blew up the amp.  Very thankful for the powder snow forecast but winds and cold to be cranked up to 11 for this one to follow-up the ice, cold, and wind from last week.  Hope everyone stays safe and warm.

I think a lot of people have Helen PTSD. I think thats why everyone went crazy at the grocery stores last week.

06z HRRR looks solid as well. I think it may have done a bit better than other short range models last weekend besides the thermals. snku_acc-imp.us_ma.jpg

Hopefully the NAM will calm down with over amping that coastal low and the dry air won’t be as big of an issue.
